The timeless capital of both the Incas and the Conquistadores this great city was founded in 1100 AD and is now a major commercial and tourist centre. We found the city to be charming, easy to explore on foot and full of colonial churches, monasteries and convents to visit. Our choice of accommodations was going to be in the Plaza de Armas.

Det er en kold tid… (hjemme igen). November 27, 2008. Så er jeg hjemme i kolde Danmark igen til masser af arbejde og HD eksaminer. Den sidste aften tilbragte jeg som forudsagt på Mud Bug med samba musik, chopp og en masse festglade brasilianere. Det blev en fornøjelig og festlig aften og nat. Derfor stod jeg også først op, så jeg lige kunne nå at checke ud inden klokken 12. Nu kunne jeg bare godt trænge til lidt ferie…. Cruise langs Costa Verde … det er et haardt liv. November 22, 2008. Godt traet gik jeg ned til bussen for at moede Juana og tage turen (sammen med flere hundrede andre turister) op til inkaernes tabte by – Machu Picchu, der meget teatralsk bliver kaldt et af verdens syv nye vidundre. Den ventede flotte solopgang over ruinbyen blev dog ikke til noget, idet alt var indhyldet i skyer, saa sigtbarheden var ikke mere end omkring 50 meter.
