As I get more and more into the world of judging, I wonder about the role of the Rules/protests/hearings etc. at the Club level. Is that the best course? Some say we should have more real protests as a way of learning and gaining experience with the whole process. Others are happy to just let things continue as they have been. What does your Club do?

The forecast for the whole week showed very pleasant conditions with the exception of a day of wind starting at 09:30 on Sunday morning, and for once the forecasts were correct. Monday, 25 November 2013. Hare and Hounds 6 - Carnage on the start line and windward leg. Very different conditions for racing on Sunday, a northerly offshore wind which was very gusty and shifty. But that didn't put off the 44 boats from taking to the water for the latest in the series. Just too many boats in too small a space. Anything up to a Force 4/5 is fine, but I can't wait to be able to look forward to a wavy downwind leg in a F5 . Sunday, 23 June 2013. Windy Junior Training at Slipper. Today the older Juniors took to the water for some training in a testing force 6. Some of the adults were out racing and clearly finding the conditions a challenge, I noticed the legend that is training-partner-Claire coming back with a liberal coating of Sweare Deep mud at the top of her 4.7 rig! Monday, 27 May 2013. 300 Log: No result, but an excellent race. Race : Down Harbour Handicap race, 2 hours. Conditions : F0-4 N, mostly flat water apart from the main harbour bay, which had chop from all directions. Result : Would have been 1st of 20, and 1st 300, but for forgetting to sign on (again!
