A reminder: What I find here is not exotic, but ordinary - I've observed before that this park contains what would grow in your backyard and paid no attention to cultivation (i.e. if you lived in Central New Jersey). Perhaps because we restrict ourselves to small areas and find visiting neighbor properties, uninvited, in poor taste, we don't get to appreciate this diversity. 12 Scarlet and Green Leafhopper. This period, also known as ' the holidays. Passes quietly in the park. While it may be Holiday Heaven elsewhere, here there is no spillover - though maybe I'll see a few more bottles floating down the river, some tinseled trees on their way to the sea. :-). From the page before, I think the wind toppled the almost chewed through tree. I just found the Beaver pond that was suggested by some gnawed trees I saw a few months ago. It's in a previously swampy area across from the towpath and can be reached with some difficulty. Even so - it's not in some isolated woodland area, but close to strip malls. 36411 Bear in the woods. More noticeable growth and color, the first Forsythia (yawn) and the birds (and Beaver) are busy. Red Winged Blackbird's churrrr. And the RedBellied Woodpeckers woooot. And the Song Sparrows cheep. Summer 2010 - 408.

This cold November day. So, those of you with deciduous trees outside your house, feel free to come here to where no leaves are raked and it looks just fine. 2008 Early - Mid January. There have been just a few days of freezing to secure the idea that we are in Winter - with no lasting snow to provide its visual accent. Nevertheless I can always find something to show in this zillion element patch of earth. 13 White Throated Sparrow. 3591 Shape in Ice. The several days of below freezing temperatures had me zip out to the area where I know there will be ice treats. Well, look what is growing nice and bright green in Winter! Last year, though, I found none.
