Tasha’s Costuming Blog. February 28, 2008 @ 11:46 am. 183; { General Costuming. I have decided that before I make my white mage costume, which will be ridiculously easy (I haven’t found the right fabrics but when I do it’ll come together nicely), I want to make a steampunk. I sketched out a design and it’s more steampirate! Punk, but I think it’ll work out good for me, considering my body structure. It’ll probably involve learning how to work leather. Tasha’s Costuming Blog. I want to make my friend Cally into Rosso the Crimson (FF7: Dirge of Cerberus). The goal is to have the costume done in time for Dragon*Con at the end of August 2008. Also in time for Dragon*Con, I want to make my husband into Reeve Tuesti (FF7: Dirge of Cerberus). Lastly, I want to make myself into Cid Highwind as featured in FF7: Advent Children and FF7: Dirge of Cerberus for Dragon*Con. Despite being a girl, I think I can pull it off. Lost in Schlock: Foamcore Lantern How-To
http://lostinschlock.blogspot.com/2013/09/foamcore-lantern-how-to.html
Saturday, September 28, 2013. Propmaker and artist, Dave Lowe. Has a fantastic how-to on building a fake lantern using foamcore. This is a tutorial I definitely plan on using for my own yard haunts for years to come. Helpful hint: foamcore can get kinda pricey in some stores. However, some dollar stores will sell it for a dollar a sheet and in either white or black. Part one of the tutorial starts here. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Steampunk Gauges on the Cheap. Tasha’s Costuming Blog. February 20, 2008 @ 7:51 am. 183; { Maiko. So I went to Jo-Anne’s today at great personal expense and tragedy. Actually, I just had to beg my dad for a ride because our car is still. I got some acrylic paints and craft foam and a sheet of posterboard. I tested out the craft foam and found that I can get good shapes out of it, and that it paints well if finished properly, but that acrylic paint, while awesome, sucks. Out of that stuff. Oh yeah, baby. 2 Comments ». And I’ve se...

Tasha’s Costuming Blog. May 13, 2008 @ 5:22 am. 183; { General Costuming. So the other day I made a few try-out Shinra lapel pins out of printer paper printed with the Shinra logo (thank God I have a fairly high-quality printer), and covered in hot glue. They turned out okay (I apologize for the crappy picture, my camera phone sucks):. The lapel pin I would put on tie tacks with butterfly clutches. And the cufflinks, clearly, would require blank cufflink findings. I just came up with the idea to make per...

Tasha’s Costuming Blog. January 29, 2008 @ 7:01 am. 183; { General Costuming. Unfortunately, I was unable to go to work today because I have a tooth infection that swelled up my throat to the point of being unable to speak. It also gave me one hell of an earache. So no plastic other than the one sheet I got, and no foamcore at all. Sad.😦. On the flip side, I’m doing some research on the maiko. Some notes: Why can’t I find any really good information about maiko. I need to find out how to tie maiko.
