Planet Beer

This is a blog about making beer, primarily ME making beer. However, it will also teach you how to homebrew- -either all grain or with little cans of goo. Enjoy! Thursday, August 11, 2016. Update for August, 2016! It's been just a little while since my last post, er, more than a few years. Anyway, I became a beer consultant and helped with info, designing and building six breweries in New Hampshire, and maybe one in NY and MA. Look for future posts coming more quickly. Yum Deep nut and pear notes combine with a medium body to produce a very rich taste indeed. I should have waited another two days or so before popping the top, but it was worth it. I should be rocking out. With apologies to Mur Lafferty). A 28-year old wannabe rocker decides to stop bitching and start practicing. A blog for newbie musicians, and people who have maybe a smattering of musical background. Sunday, November 2, 2008. Ben Folds Album Review: Way to Normal. As a dedicated Ben Folds fan, I will enjoy pretty much anything Folds puts out with rare exception. And I'm one who has felt his recent albums have been a touch too subtle and nuanced for my personal tastes.

Garlic Is Love: June 2013

http://garlicislove.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html

A blog about food and cooking. Non-garlic lovers also welcome. Thursday, June 20, 2013. Such a sexy title for a blog post, I know. Back in the day, when I wrote about my clone recipe for Baskin Robbins' Daiquiri Ice. I said citric acid might be hard to find outside of health food stores, so I gave a couple other options. A lovely reader (I have readers? Each time you make the recipe, your limes will be a little different, so each time you'll need to add a different amount of sour. Links to this post.

Garlic Is Love: Kauai at last: First impressions

http://garlicislove.blogspot.com/2014/08/kauai-at-last-first-impressions.html

A blog about food and cooking. Non-garlic lovers also welcome. Saturday, August 9, 2014. Kauai at last: First impressions. Cool, clouds, breeze. Not raining, but all is wet. My skin tingles, remembering what moisture is. My hair starts to frizz. I am so very relaxed, but excited, but hungry. Ocean view, best for sunrises, not sunsets. Tomorrow will be fun. Garlic Is Love: Snack List Five (aka foods I must try in Hawaii)

http://garlicislove.blogspot.com/2014/08/snack-list-five-aka-foods-i-must-try-in.html

A blog about food and cooking. Non-garlic lovers also welcome. Tuesday, August 5, 2014. Snack List Five (aka foods I must try in Hawaii). I'll be using this blog as a food and travel blog over the next few weeks, but I figured I'd start with the food. If you know me, this is not news. A co-worker, who used to live in Hawaii, just gave me a list of the local snacks she loved the most. I'm taking this "Food List Five" with me on my trip. I'll try them as I find them, and do a brief write up too.

Garlic Is Love: Snack List Five: Ling Hi Mui

http://garlicislove.blogspot.com/2014/08/snack-list-five-ling-hi-mui.html

A blog about food and cooking. Non-garlic lovers also welcome. Thursday, August 14, 2014. Snack List Five: Ling Hi Mui. Ling Hi Mui is dried, salted, sugared, sour plums. I can do pickled plums, in moderation, mostly as an adjunct to a soup or porridge. And I love salt and vinegar chips. But these I could not eat. I tried. Twice. I did pick up the powdered version, which is meant to sprinkle on fruit. I think that would probably taste pretty good to me, in massive moderation. August 15, 2014 at 3:38 PM.

Garlic Is Love: July 2011

http://garlicislove.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html

A blog about food and cooking. Non-garlic lovers also welcome. Saturday, July 16, 2011. Hot under the (tuna) collar. There are some foods I've never had that I know I'll love. Oh, I plan to eat them someday, but either they are too expensive (caviar), too hard to find in my area (glass eels, sea beans), or I only recently learned they existed (black garlic). Today, I crossed one off my list: Tuna collar. Links to this post. Labels: tuna collar smoked fish. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Follow me on Twitter.

Garlic Is Love: Snack List Five: Mochi

http://garlicislove.blogspot.com/2014/08/snack-list-five-mochi.html

A blog about food and cooking. Non-garlic lovers also welcome. Wednesday, August 13, 2014. Snack List Five: Mochi. I've had Mochi before. I do aikido, and absorbing a bit of Japanese culture tends to be part of the art. For those not in the know, Mochi is a sweet snack made from sticky rice, pounded until it is gummy and pasty, usually filled with some sweet filling. The texture is not my favorite. We had it as a quick snack before our trip through the canyon. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
