Rx Project HOPE: November 2011
http://rxprojecthope.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Friday, November 11, 2011. What happens when the internet is not working, your time to work on a worthwhile project is counting down, and the weather is nice? You do your market research on foot! Googling (is that a verb? Anyways - this was probably as fun an experience as I'll have doing "market research". Thursday, November 3, 2011. All-in-all a good experience. I'm glad I found what I needed. I'm also glad I was able to see what a Cameroonian pharmacy was like, to compare it to the States. This blog i...

Rx Project HOPE: July 2012
http://rxprojecthope.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 30, 2012. Yesterday was my first day on MEDCAP. I was able to go out with my preceptor and one of the Navy pharmacy personnel. I was so excited to finally see how the clinics were run here and what site we would be at. We mustered at 0530 and took a boat and a bus ride to our site. This was the 4. Overall, it was a great experience. We were told that the people were very thankful to have us there and you could tell that they really appreciated all of the services that were provided. Stops al...

Rx Project HOPE: July 2015
http://rxprojecthope.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 31, 2015. Continuing Promise 2015: Doh-mah-nee-kah. WiFi on the ship has been down for the past week and will be for the foreseeable future as someone plugged their laptop into the router in the middle of the night and hacked the password.now the seabees have to build a box to lock around the router so it doesn't happen again.they are busy out at site building ramps. The navy band was also on site for a little bit. Friday, July 24, 2015. Continuing Promise 2015: This is a REALLY LONG TRANSIT.

Rx Project HOPE: August 2012
http://rxprojecthope.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, August 9, 2012. Exploring Sihanoukville, Cambodia. I had many opportunities to explore the city of Sihanoukville, Cambodia since I did not go on an overnight MEDCAP. A 20 minute boat ride takes us to the pier and then a 10 minute bus ride drops us off at the Golden Lion Traffic Circle. Getting off the bus proved to be crazy. It was a bit scary the first time, but now I don’t make eye contact, hold on tight to my bag, and am really good at just saying no. I just repeat my previous no. Common phr...

Rx Project HOPE: Dominica
http://rxprojecthope.blogspot.com/2015/08/dominica.html
Thursday, August 6, 2015. Like Heather said earlier, the WIFI on the ship has been out for most of the time that we have been in Dominica and I didn't want to drag my computer down into town to use the internet at a restaurant to post a blog. The next day Heather and I went to Princess Margaret Hospital on a SMEE. We got to see how the hospital was set up as well as how they run their pharmacy. We get to Barbados tomorrow and will fly out the next day. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Rx Project HOPE: May 2012
http://rxprojecthope.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
Wednesday, May 30, 2012. I slept like a baby on my first night on this ship. The gentle rocking of the ship on the water makes for a good night sleep. This rocking of the ship however makes me a little dizzy during the day. I started wearing a sea band yesterday. That stuff works! Thursday, May 24, 2012. Our mission officially begins today! The sense of discipline and professionalism on the part of the Navy and the mission as a whole is quite striking. Everybody out here follows the rules without que...
