You can see here the nut of the same guitar with the same strings like it is on Pepi II made in a different and more sophisticated way. To compensate a minimum is one way and to overcompensate is the other way to approach to the optimum. I am these days trying out an overcompensation of 3 mm for all the strings knowing, that this can be the solution only for one or two strings. A 2 mm overvompensated nut with its carving for the thinner strings.

I fear that to resolve these problems we have to change the positions of the frets 13, 14 and so on, for example like it does Chouard. Http:/ www.chouard.de/dinfo.htm. But the main problem for the right intonation of the most arcustic guitars, is the dissonance between the open string and the 1st few frets up to the 12th. So there may be no need of any further regulation.
