About Patty-News Junkie, Food Fanatic

http://www.pattywrites.com/pages.php?tabid=1&pageid=8&title=About+Patty

News Junkie, Food Fanatic. I grew up in Allen Park, Michigan, in the shadow of the giant (eight-story) Uniroyal Tire. On I-94. At age nine I wrote and illustrated my first newspaper. Nine years later I was working full time at my favorite paper, the Detroit Free Press. Mornings as a fashion assistant, afternoons pasting up wire copy and editing stock reports in business news. That was in 1968, the year the Tigers won the World Series and the Free Press. Won the Pulitzer Prize. Kurt Luedtke. I Won, I Won!

Joe Borri's Blog: May the Season Shine Upon You

http://eightdogsnamedjack.blogspot.com/2009/12/may-season-shine-upon-you.html

Drawing and writing in Detroit and Eight Dogs Named Jack. Monday, December 21, 2009. May the Season Shine Upon You. It's been a long time again. I need to try and make a New Year's rez to get on here and post something. At least once a week. Well, something relevant. Really shouldn't be that difficult, right? My hope for the coming year is health, happiness and prosperity to everyone out there, or at least those that come across my blog and this post in particular. Posted by Joe Borri.

Drawing and writing in Detroit and Eight Dogs Named Jack. Thursday, October 30, 2008. Traverse Magazine Interview/Bow Season. I had the recent honor of being interviewed by Traverse Magazine's Emily Tyra. She first did a piece on the book last November, when she recommended my story, Measure of a Man. To be excerpted in the magazine. I was introduced to Emily from a good friend, writer Patty LaNoue Stearns. Is posting the entire short story, Bow Season. Posted by Joe Borri. Links to this post. Joe Borri's Blog: New Job!

http://eightdogsnamedjack.blogspot.com/2009/02/new-job.html

Drawing and writing in Detroit and Eight Dogs Named Jack. Sunday, February 22, 2009. I started working as a rep for Indigo. Thankfully, because of the Skype camera, I am able to teleconference every day with the folks in Atlanta. It's an exciting time but getting acclimated has found me behind in my writing and the pursuit of agents and national publishers for my next two books. I'm back at it though, slowly and surely. Stay tuned. Posted by Joe Borri. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Joe Borri's Blog: January 2010

http://eightdogsnamedjack.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html

Drawing and writing in Detroit and Eight Dogs Named Jack. Sunday, January 17, 2010. So I dropped off two of my kids today to see Avatar at a screen that was showing it in IMAX. We were there 40 minutes early, had pre-ordered the tickets, and the line for the movie was wrapped around the back concession stand. This movie's appeal is unreal. Despite the comparisons to Pocahontas and Dances With Wolves, people love this film. When will the crowds abate? Will Cameron go the Lucas route? Posted by Joe Borri.

A website for lovers of God and the world. Hayley and Sara’ s Eyes. August 5, 2015. I sit in my car like I have for decades. I pull down the visor to apply makeup before the hospice visit,. I pray for each daughter in law–both so lovely it makes you want to cry. They do makeup well.slowly, expertly, they take their time to apply it well. They always look beautiful. And are– as women of faith, as my sons’ wives, as my daughters-in-love. Soone eye is for Hayley. And one is for Sara. Outlines my green eyes.
