Love, Music, Wine, & Revolution: Melody is STILL visiting Days 4 & 5
http://libbadibbado.blogspot.com/2012/02/melody-is-still-visiting-days-4-5.html
Love, Music, Wine, and Revolution. Themes from the Bottom. Tuesday, February 14, 2012. Melody is STILL visiting Days 4 and 5. I know what you're thinking, how long, exactly, was Melody in the Southeast? Not long enough, is the answer. Sunday night was spent munching on sushi, and sitting on the couch, drinking wine and continuing the conversation. Then we headed out to explore more of Birmingham and take some more photos. I took Mel to Sloss Furnaces, which is a mecca of texture, rust, angles, all th...

Love, Music, Wine, & Revolution: January 2012
http://libbadibbado.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Love, Music, Wine, and Revolution. Themes from the Bottom. Friday, January 27, 2012. Melody Visits, Day 1 and 2. I was so nervous leading up to Melody's visit. I had all sorts of irrational fears, most of which centered around, "What if she doesn't like me? I told you, irrational. I don't know why I was nervous, I guess it was just nervous excited energy. Because as soon as I saw her walking down the concourse, I wanted to squeal with happiness! We passed through a little town on the way there that is ve...

Love, Music, Wine, & Revolution: September 2011
http://libbadibbado.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Love, Music, Wine, and Revolution. Themes from the Bottom. Wednesday, September 28, 2011. With all the wedding photo editing I had going on, I was lacking motivation to continue on with my 365 photo project.enter Pinterest. I found a great 30-Day Photo Challenge to inspire me to keep on keeping on. It's been a great way to stay inspired, and also to learn some new tricks. I'm on Day 20 right now, and here are some photos from the highlight reel:. Day 8 - A Bad Habit. I think texting counts. Day 14 - Eyes.

Musings: February 2009
http://speculativemusing.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Welcome to my blog. Here you will find random commentary on my cooking adventures, restaurant reviews from my time on the road (mostly in Oklahoma, but not exclusively so), occasional musings on life, and whatever else I feel like writing about. If you check the archives, you'll find some anecdotes from my time as a special education teacher, comments from camps I've worked, and glimpses of my family. Enjoy! Tuesday, February 24, 2009. Good stuff. That makes up for the pickles only being OK. Baby bok cho...

Love, Music, Wine, & Revolution: A Lesson in Libb-A-Ration.
http://libbadibbado.blogspot.com/2012/02/so-hows-that-whole-honesty-thing.html
Love, Music, Wine, and Revolution. Themes from the Bottom. Saturday, February 25, 2012. A Lesson in Libb-A-Ration. But why is it that drama has a tendency to show up unannounced? Shouldn't it be required to knock on the front door and you can decide whether or not to let it in? Let me hear a Hoo-rah! Thats the beauty of being an adult. You can choose who you want to surround yourself with. Most of the time. And I think right now you are surrounding yourself with some pretty awesome people. If you walk ac...

Love, Music, Wine, & Revolution: May 2011
http://libbadibbado.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Love, Music, Wine, and Revolution. Themes from the Bottom. Monday, May 30, 2011. Yesterday was our one year wedding and seven year soul-mate anniversary! It was also the only day off we'll have together until our honeymoon, so we definitely took advantage. Then we drank bloody marys on the porch and decided to take a dip in the river. Who needs a pool when there's a river a few short miles from home? Piper will do anything for a B-A-L-L, including take a seat in the river. It was definitely a special meal.

Prefect Slog: Black Dog Down - July
http://prefectjournal.blogspot.com/2015/07/black-dog-down-july.html
Friday, July 31, 2015. Black Dog Down - July. Little things please little minds. Not that my mind is especially little, but it does tend to get quite crowded so that’s suggestive of some pretty cramped headspace. Or maybe there’s ample space but there’s too many foreign thoughts coming over here, taking up too much room and living off the system. Over the years, I’ve had plenty of experience in identifying the Black Dog, but even now there are times when external sources trespass and blur the track...

Prefect Slog: September 2014
http://prefectjournal.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Sunday, September 28, 2014. 8220;Good old fashioned Doctor Who fun,” somebody said to me on Twitter last night. They were responding to my less than enthusiastic reaction to the latest episode, The Caretaker. 8216;Good’ and ‘fun’ are subjective, so fair play to anyone who got that much enjoyment out of it. Me, I got bored. Tedious fluff, I thought. But I’ve racked my brains and can only guess that by ‘old-fashioned’ the Twitterer meant circa 2006. Soap opera first crept into Doctor Who. In a decent run o...

Prefect Slog: Black Dog Down - May
http://prefectjournal.blogspot.com/2015/05/black-dog-down-may.html
Sunday, May 31, 2015. Black Dog Down - May. Previously on Black Dog Down. 8220;A month of R&R. Surely even I can’t fail at that. Thought I’d open with that quote as I was fairly sure at the time I wrote it that, yes, even I could fail at a month of R&R. And I did, to some extent. By the start of May I was still behind schedule on applying the make-up and cosmetic surgery to the latest book in my Evil UnLtd. All interspersed with rationed spells of productivity. Not to mention a healthy portion of tha...
