Crafty beaded knitter: January 2015
http://craftybeadedknitter.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Monday, 12 January 2015. I want to take a project to sewing group tomorrow evening, I have tonight to come up with something (and not just grab my knitting). There is a crazy fraying fabric where I tailor-tacked the skirt front cutting outline so I can overlock and cut out. I will need to match the two back pieces to this - so I guess I best do this at home and I can tell myself, with relief, that this is not a good candidate for taking along. Good. I have no idea how far I got with the aqua and pink top...

Crafty beaded knitter: July 2015
http://craftybeadedknitter.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Monday, 20 July 2015. It is not quite seamless: all of a sudden I decided to knit the sleeves open - because it is easier to remember when to do the decreases for the sleeve shaping when there are knit and purl rows. The stitch holder finally saw some use (I had them a while) but turned out to be a bit disappointing; they popped open on at least three different. Occasions and dropped stitches, which is precisely what they're meant to prevent. Such a nice strong colour that makes me feel good. PS: I am ca...

Crafty beaded knitter: April 2015
http://craftybeadedknitter.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 21 April 2015. One blind hem coming up! I sat down and re-did the hem of this stash-busting skirt. As a hand-stitched blind hem. How do you like them apples? It didn't take me very long at all - just a little time at a crafts meeting on Sunday afternoon. You sit and chat while you stitch away at something like this. and almost without realising: you're getting it done. And overall I am now much happier with the general standard of sewing on this project. I feel like I am improving in technic...

Crafty beaded knitter: July 2014
http://craftybeadedknitter.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Friday, 25 July 2014. Oh of goodness' sake! I've only just now figured out why I have such a massively inflated stash: I keep buying more, and more, and more fabric, it has got very much out of hand. I just don't know where to put the stuff any more and I can't possibly hope to use it all up! Why oh why am I doing this? And, oh boy, I only just realised! Buying beautiful fabric is the best and most enjoyable part of "sewing" for me! No fiddling, no faffing about. Doesn't that sound brilliant? I want to m...

Crafty beaded knitter: Red and black skirt - using up stash fabric!
http://craftybeadedknitter.blogspot.com/2015/06/red-and-black-skirt-using-up-stash.html
Monday, 8 June 2015. Red and black skirt - using up stash fabric! Oh yes, I am using up stash fabric. I can feel the relief coursing through my veins at saying this: I am actually using up material that I've had in my stash for ages! So repurposing is the order of the day. What can I make with one fat quarter? Not a heck of a lot. But I can if combined with a plain black fabric, like for example a skirt. Marvellous idea! I did try to pattern match this as pernickety and detail obsessed as I could but it ...

Crafty beaded knitter: February 2015
http://craftybeadedknitter.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Sunday, 8 February 2015. Fabric shopping in Shepherd's Bush. I only just realised that I have a number of draft posts sitting there unloved and neglected. I completely forgot that I hadn't finished them. So just for completeness's sake, here is my blog post about a fabric shopping trip 2-3 years ago, it was the first time we went to the Goldhawk Road/Shepherds Bush area fabric shops as a group. It is a really. Long time ago now. Oh my goodness, did I have a whale of a time or what! And they have a great ...
