The high average cholesterol of the Australian population is a substantial contributor to incidence of (and deaths from) heart disease. Lowering average LDL cholesterol ("bad cholesterol") levels by 10% through dietary means would significantly reduce this human toll. Specific dietary and lifestyle changes can significantly lower cholesterol levels and make a big difference, which means a better quality of life and potential lives saved.
