Nalanda Journey: July 2010
http://nalanda-journey.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 20, 2010. 18 July 2010- On being sick. So, it's true. Everyone who had visited India had told me that they had gotten sick. Even my doctor, who is Indian herself, gave me plenty of warnings. Well, here I am, sick! I also had to run to the bathroom every ten minutes last night! Was read to them, they all chose Indian names, and they colored the map of India, just to name a few activities. We even interviewed a parent who was from India. So with that thought of keeping hydrated, I have been e...

Nalanda Journey: Orphanage 2
http://nalanda-journey.blogspot.com/2013/07/orphanage-2.html
Saturday, July 20, 2013. I visited the orphanage again. My friend helped me buy some much needed baby formula for the new babies. This time the orphanage had 16 girls and was expecting two more babies in the coming week. I asked what each girl’s name was and took some pictures so that next year when I visit I will be able to call them by their names. This 12 year old was usually smiling. She speaks some English and is such a sweet girl. I would've taken her home in a heartbeat! Nalanda on the move. Pictu...

Nalanda Journey: Delhi Zoo
http://nalanda-journey.blogspot.com/2013/08/delhi-zoo.html
Sunday, August 4, 2013. This zoo is a huge 176 acres! I was thankful that I bought tickets for us to ride the trolley (50 rupees per adult and kids under 5 free). It was a hot summer afternoon and we never would have made it walking around the entire place. The trolley drove us around the whole park stopping at key sites where we could get off and see the animals. Mama (uncle), I see the giraffe! Hathi हाथी. सफेद बाघ. Sometimes a leaf is more fascinating than the wildlife! Chinese Buddhist Temple Nalanda.
