My Patchwork Blanket and other knitted things: One a day progress and other yarn related news

http://www.mypatchworkblanket.blogspot.com/2014/08/one-day-progress-and-other-yarn-related.html

My Patchwork Blanket and other knitted things. Thursday, 28 August 2014. One a day progress and other yarn related news. I've been terrible about updating my blog with how this project is going. It is still going, but it's turned more into a weekly event due to an extraodinarily busy summer holidays. I'm currently a week behind having been away at Small World festival in Kent, but I plan to make up those missing hexagons later today. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

My Patchwork Blanket and other knitted things. Tuesday, 18 March 2014. Week 10/11 hexagon a day challenge and other related yarny things. It's been another crazy couple of weeks. Last Monday saw me celebrate another birthday which still just keeps me from moving up an age bracket on surveys! My birthday week was full of travel. I visited friends and stayed with the lovely Sam (my cousin) from the KnitRunDig. Podcast and went to the Knitting and Stitching Show. The pattern is here. Thanks for reading x.

My Patchwork Blanket and other knitted things. Wednesday, 15 October 2014. Hexagon a day update. Day 262. Week 38. One of the things I was going to do along side making the hexagon each day was blog on a weekly basis to see the progress coming along. This clearly hasn't happened. The making of the hexagons took a bit of a dive over the summer but everything is back on track now and up to date. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Hexagon a day update. Day 262. Week 38. My Patchwork Blanket and other knitted things: Week 22 hexagon a day project

http://www.mypatchworkblanket.blogspot.com/2014/06/week-22-hexagon-day-project.html

My Patchwork Blanket and other knitted things. Saturday, 7 June 2014. Week 22 hexagon a day project. It's been 11 weeks since I posted and update on this project. There are reasons. My own health hasn't been the greatest, and unfortunately (but not unexpectedly) my grandmother passed away 2 weeks ago. I shall add some of the other projects I have been working on in another post soon, but for now I shall leave you with where the hex a day is up to. Thanks for reading x. Plot 108: 2012-07-08

http://plot108.blogspot.com/2012_07_08_archive.html

A blog mostly about my allotment. Monday, 9 July 2012. Round up w/c 9th July 2012. Its going to be a blog mainly of pictures again. Have spent the last couple of weeks digging out and riddling the 2 compost bins and the compost has been spread around the plot, which is now resulting in a fresh flush of weed and tomato seedlings! It's been really hard work, but the compost is fab and the plants are definitely going to like it. Then firmed it down with some festive wellies ;-). Earliest tomatoes are starti...

Plot 108: 2012-04-29

http://plot108.blogspot.com/2012_04_29_archive.html

A blog mostly about my allotment. Tuesday, 1 May 2012. Because of the drought(! Yesterday was the first day in over 2 weeks I managed to get to the plot. Was starting to get a bit anxious that everywhere isnt ready for planting out. There was much intaking of breath and tutting from the ol' boys when I said I was going to weed. 'Nah, you cant do that, its too wet' etc so I rolleyed my eyes as usual and showed them how its done! So I went from this:. Elsewhere on the plot the raspberries are looking fab.

http://plot108.blogspot.com/2012_03_25_archive.html

A blog mostly about my allotment. Friday, 30 March 2012. The one with all the bark chipping. I've been getting my path ready for the past couple of weeks for the arrival of the bark chipping. My friend Darren from Northborough Tree Services. Was able to supply me with a lorry load of fresh chippings. About 30 barrow fulls later just over half the path was lined. At this point we'd run out of weed proof membrane and were getting very tired. There was still about half the pile left to move. I dispensed wit...

Plot 108: The one with all the spuds

http://plot108.blogspot.com/2013/04/the-one-with-all-spuds.html

A blog mostly about my allotment. Tuesday, 2 April 2013. The one with all the spuds. Firstly, the weather this year is appalling. This time last year I was nursing sunburn after an unseasonably 20 degrees at the end of March. This year I am trying to avoid frostbite in my extremities. SORT IT OUT weather gods! OH (who officially owns the new plot) I think is just starting to realise the enormity of the task *he (*I) have taken on! Anyway, here's some photos while I ponder the best course of action.

http://plot108.blogspot.com/2012_05_13_archive.html

A blog mostly about my allotment. Monday, 14 May 2012. Wild food foraging course. On Saturday went on a wild food foraging course with the Peterborough in Transition group. We met at the Olive Branch community garden and the first part of the morning was walking around the site and finding edibles that would normally be overlooked. There were lots around the site. Chickweed, dandelion, nettle, hawthorn, crab apple, bramble, elder, rowan to name but a few. There wasn't that much to find in the town park e...

http://plot108.blogspot.com/2012_04_15_archive.html

A blog mostly about my allotment. Tuesday, 17 April 2012. This week's round up of the plot. Finally taken the fleece off the red onions and shallots and they're looking really good. A couple of the shallots have yet to do anything, but I guess there's still time. The raspberries are looking fab. So mayn new shoots and loads of buds already. Hopeful for a very good crop this year. Pulled the first rhubarb stems today. The rest of the onion bed looking really healthy pretty good (crap photo tho). Permacult...

A blog mostly about my allotment. Friday, 23 March 2012. So my pallet went from this. To getting almost 2/3rds of the way down the path. Doesn't look like a lot done, but I can feel it in every muscle in my body. Really glad this should be a one off job. Wednesday, 21 March 2012. Doesnt look like much got done today, but what did get done in the couple of hours was hard work, especially as it was quite warm. 'The weeding I didn't finish yesterday. The one about the tree. On Sunday I bought a pear tree&#4...

Plot 108: Shed ramblings

http://plot108.blogspot.com/2013/03/shed-ramblings.html

A blog mostly about my allotment. Sunday, 3 March 2013. As I'm sure many other plot holders will find, the site reps can be, to put it politely, challenging to deal with at times. No exceptions here. Our recently acquired plot came with the normal detritus from previous tenants but also a shed, in fairly desperate need of some TLC. Anyway, after all the ranglings it was a very productive day. The kids painted the compost bins and then we set about marking out the new plot and digging commenced.

Just a girl on a journey of being mended by God. My Real-Life Conversation with God…. June 18, 2015. This isn’t the prettiest of posts, but it is ripped word for word from the pages of my journal. My real-life conversation with God…. 8220;Come to the Well”,. I heard Him say. 8216;But God…’ my heart responds. Then I wander off….). I worshi...

My Patchwork Home – My ongoing journey through patchwork and life

My ongoing journey through patchwork and life. February 5, 2015. Noodlehead have a popular and detailed tutorial for making zipped pouches. I feel bad including a link to the tutorial for a post that is about my mistakes so I feel I need to emphasise that the problem was because I ignored the directions. I have every confidence that the tutorial would create a great pouch if followed correctly. 1 Sew me something good. I guess more practicing is required here. Fun though. 2017 – Forward Bound. From Here to Divinity. Every December, my mother led the cookie and candy-making brigade in our kitchen so we’d end up with plates of chocolate and butter flavored glee to enjoy and share for Christmas. Who remembers pulling taffy? Using a cookie press? Patiently watching the temperature rise in a candy thermometer? You’ve Got Company. The holidays can be a paralyzing time for lots of people. It's easy to feel alone, even when you’re surrounded by others. Guess what?
