Thursday, November 29, 2007. I don't know if you've noticed, but there's a draught going on. The governor of North Carolina tells us we're supposed to SAVE WATER, so I'm doing what I can. The best way I know to do this is to start by simply being mindful. Do I really need to be showering this long? I'm clean now- I could just get out. Wednesday, November 05, 2008. Yes, we can. Today I woke up feeling like anything is possible. If we can overcome all our long-held prejudices and elect this man to be President of the United States, anything is possible. We can get past the recurring stumbling blocks at work, and find new ways of working together. The kids can remember to do their chores without my prompting. Maybe I can even finish this book I've been working on for so long. Yes, we can. The chore thing might be a little optimistic.

Monday, January 14, 2008. Is a constructive proposition. Gracefully spreading the condiments,. The fluffy green leaves of lettuce. Finally the two sides meet. An arranged carbo marriage. Who no longer makes sandwiches,. Is peanut butter and jelly. She has its name written. On a small piece of paper. In the rest home. So she won't forget. My daughter prefers jam. With her peanut butter. Or pasta, and no sandwich at all. The "sandwich generation" is a misnomer. I'm not a symmetrical union. I'm torn in two.

Saturday, January 27, 2007. Fresh Water from Old Wells. The title of my book-to-be. I've been thinking a lot about that title lately, bustin' it wi-i-i-ide open. I thought I knew what the fresh water and the old wells were, so I set out to figure out how I could fit them together. As I started trying to fit them, I realized that I actually.
