Avalanche Skills Essentials - Mt Hood. Course fee is $275 which includes:. 2 days of professional instruction. A copy of "Staying Alive in Avalanche Terrain" by Bruce Tremper. All rescue and snow analysis equipment provided. A balance of classroom training and field practice. Instructor participant ratio of 1:7 or better. I've known since first seeing Altamira Apartments (my humble abode) that Bear Creek Park lay just behind it. I'd explored the dog park and the creek itself a bit, but had never entered the actual park part until this week. I immediately fell in love with it!
