About & Contact. Disclaimer & Privacy. We Can’t Afford It Remains Taboo. We Can’t Afford It Remains Taboo. Posted on June 22, 2015. It's only fair to share. Nobody really wants you to save money. Well, maybe the bank. Like Carl Richards nicely explained in his recent book. The One-Page Financial Plan. I recently took at look at our budget and this is where our money goes every month. Here are some reflections:. We put away a small amount of funds every month for home improvements. I can conclude we d...

I'm a Bad Minimalist - My Alternate Life
http://my-alternate-life.com/miniamlism-hobbies
Live your life. Don't buy your lifestyle. I’m a Bad Minimalist. July 28, 2015. But I have other hobbies that I use less. For example, my camping gear. My husband and I camp about twice a year, yet we own close to 30 camping related items. That’s a lot of items for a hobby we only engage in twice a year. My Hobbies are Holding Me Back from True Minimalism. Whenever I read about ‘extreme’ minimalists who live with only 100 items, I wonder to myself “What do they. What are their hobbies? In order to keep ou...

A Winter Escape Cost Proposal. January 16, 2015. We’re catching up on posting about life here on Urban Departures, so let me tell you about our impromptu-ish vacation in December. When I was eligible for this program I immediately signed up. The returns of these funds are great, the MER is about 2 - 2.5%. I can’t lose money on these investments! And I wanted desperately to move up to the next stage of competence.
