Friday, November 21, 2008. Busier than a one-armed paper hanger. How have I lost the use of my hand, you ask? Don't read on if you get queasy. I cut off the nail, nail bed, and a bit of bone of my left ring finger with a serrated bread knife. It is impossible to use stitches, so we are just keeping it clean, dry, and well packed, but today (I did this Tuesday) it looks like it's almost done bleeding- yay! Thursday, July 14, 2011. I jumped my first fence ever last night. It was quite thrilling! It was just a little cross rail, but it was my first time. I was a bit apprehensive about jumping, but my instructor did an excellent job of preparing us in ground work, so that when the time came it was easy breezy over the first rails. I love riding and was not enjoying class as much as usual with the prospect of having to jump looming over. Well, the day finally came, and it was awesome! Tuesday, July 5, 2011.

Growing up we played in the yard, the woods, the tall grass in the fields, and at the edge of the woods all day, and I never had one tick, ever. Now it seems just going into the front yard of anyone's house requires a full body scan to detect those nasty buggers!
