The Longest Haircut | Joy Despite Disability
https://missionpossibleministries.wordpress.com/2011/01/06/the-longest-haircut
Thoughts on living with disability. To say that Daniel hates haircuts is an understatement. I could not stand his bangs hanging in his face any longer, so to Daniel’s utter dismay, I gave him a haircut tonight. Despite the crocodile tears and his constantly moving head, I managed to make the first cut. “Are you done now? 8221;, Daniel asks. “No, Daniel, I am not done. If you are still, I will be done soon.”. For the next thirty minutes, Daniel asks me if I am done after every cut! January 6, 2011. Enter ...
The Birthday Chronicles | Joy Despite Disability
https://missionpossibleministries.wordpress.com/2011/02/23/the-birthday-chronicles
Thoughts on living with disability. I put a piece of pizza on Daniel’s plate and then he informs me that we need to sing happy birthday to him before he can eat his birthday pizza. So, we all sing happy birthday to him at the table in Pizza Hut. February 23, 2011. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Fill in your details below or click an icon to log in:. Thoughts on living with disability. He’s Not Smiling. This morning Mitchel decided to watch a movie on his portable DVD player. The problem was that his headphones were attached to the computer and Daniel was using them! 8221; I was so proud of him for being so calm and polite. Daniel looked at me , still wearing Mitchel’s headphones, and pointed to Mitchel and said, “He’s not smiling.”. February 19, 2011. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. My Treasured Heart | Joy Despite Disability
https://missionpossibleministries.wordpress.com/2011/07/25/my-treasured-heart
Thoughts on living with disability. I have been reading the first couple of chapters in the Gospel of Luke these past couple of weeks, and I have been thinking about Mary, and how she treasured the things said done in her heart. Yesterday, I had one of the greatest joys of my life; my son, Daniel, decided that he wanted to be a Jesus follower and asked me to pray with him! So, in a few weeks, I will be baptizing my son in the lake while he wears his swimming goggles. God is so good! July 25, 2011. Malik ...
The Lucky Ducky’s | Joy Despite Disability
https://missionpossibleministries.wordpress.com/2011/02/16/the-lucky-duckys
Thoughts on living with disability. The Lucky Ducky’s. The next morning, the boys are both crying at the bus stop because they want to take their forms so that they can get a duck. Their dad assured them that he will have a duck for them when they get home from school. Daniel then informs him that some of the ducks at school are “lucky ducks” and are good for other prizes. How does one compete with that? February 16, 2011. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Address never made public).

Thoughts on what I am reading. Paul’s View of Women. July 28, 2011. Women in ministry is still a highly debated issue within the church. John Temple Bristow’s book,. What Paul Really Said About Women: an Apostle’s Liberating Views on Equality in Marriage, Leadership, and Love,. Takes a look at how Paul’s intended message that women are to be educated and included in the leadership of the church has been distorted through the teachings of Aristotle, Augustine, and Aquinas. Thoughts on what I am reading. August 2, 2011. Narrative preaching has been something that I viewed as nearly impossible for me to accomplish. Over the past two months, I have been felt encouraged to try it and learn more about it so that I may develop the skills necessary to be a good storyteller. I just finished reading. From → books. Thoughts on what I am reading. September 30, 2010. Well I have been remiss in keeping up with my blogging this past month as I have adjusted to life as a seminary student. Funding Your Ministry | Michelle's Bookshelf
https://michellebookshelf.wordpress.com/2011/07/25/funding-your-ministry
Thoughts on what I am reading. July 25, 2011. I just finished reading. I personally was convicted on the need to raise 100% of my budget rather than believing that I will just get by with less than what is needed. I appreciated the author’s encouraging tone throughout the book. I can honestly say that I feel more empowered and confident to accomplish my needed fundraising, and I see it more as a ministry than as a dreaded task! From → books. Larr; Seminary Reading. Thoughts on what I am reading. July 26, 2011. Ten Most Common Mistakes: Made by New Church Starts. By Jim Griffith and Bill Easum. I would rate this book “okay.” It was not a bad book, but only about half of the book was informative to me. From → books. Larr; Funding Your Ministry. Paul’s View of Women →.
