After packing my life for a year into two duffle bags and saying goodbye to many dear friends and family members, I've now been at the Mercy Ships IOC (international operations center) in Lindale, Texas for about a week. Along with 35 other people who are joining as long-term crew members, I'll be here for five weeks of training.
