Here is the new mother, Susie, and all 8 pups. While this may sound like a big litter, it really is not. Goldens are known to have as many as 17 in a litter and usually at least 12. Since this was Susie's first we are glad that there were only 8. A closer look at the newborns - both of these pictures were taken shortly after the last pup was born, so the oldest pup here is less than 6 hours old and the newest only 30 minutes old. (approximately 8:30pm Jan 17th).
