An Elder Benefit Specialist (EBS) is trained to assist individuals age 60 and over who are having a problem with their private or government benefits. An EBS helps older persons determine what benefits they are entitled to and explain what they must do to receive them. Elder Benefit Specialists attend continuing training by attorneys who are knowledgeable in elder law issues. What can an EBS do? Provide accurate and current information on benefits. Advocate on your behalf with other parties involved.
