Is a marathon a pipe dream. I am Lindsay. I’m nearly 40 and a mummy to a three year old. I have recently started to run. And I use the term “run” in the loosest of senses. What I really mean is meander along at what it probably a walking pace, but that looks a little less graceful. I am one of those people who actively avoided activity at school at all costs and to be honest I am pretty much the same now. I smoked a lot when I was younger, starting at a young age and only quitting in the last 10 years.

Is a marathon a pipe dream. I’m a plodder. September 18, 2015. Seeing parts of the Great North Run on TV at the weekend was quite inspiring. I saw lots of stories of people completing it against the odds. It made me think that I am definitely capable of completing a half marathon. The question is how fast. I am certain that I could walk/run the whole thing – but is that enough for me? I strongly believe that if I am going to do it, then I want to run, all or most of the way. Running on a school night.
