Because of the import ban of Bees into the Isle of Man (which has been in place for over 20 years), the stock of Manx Bees has not been diluted by the importation of Italian and other Bees.This has resulted in almost pure Black Bees. While the Manx Bees may not be as prolific as some other Bees,they are ideally suited to the conditions found on the Isle of Man and in Northern Europe.They seem to fly in poorer weather conditions and overwinter well in the harsh Manx winters. Lots of rides since then but most of them are recorded on my FaceBook page. I have needed to give the DR a bit of a clean and a service and have been putting it off. Having had a 3 week holiday to Disney with the family over the Xmas/Summer break I didn’t get the opportunity to the servicing I needed. Straight back to work the day after returning to New Zealand.
