magsramsay: FoQ purchases
http://magsramsay.blogspot.com/2015/08/foq-purchases.html
Experiments with textiles, paints and plants. Monday, 10 August 2015. I seemed to spend most of Friday and Saturday at FoQ talking! Yesterday was spent catching up with washing of clothes and a bit of scrumping of apples before the parakeets get them all ( v nice apple crumble last night). Today I've been rinsing and washing my ecoprinted treasures , taking photos beforehand to check how much colour they loose - looks like surprisingly little so far. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Friday, 10 April 2015. International Threads in Prague. Kathy Loomis arrived in. And yesterday we took the train to. Where International Thread is having its first international exhibition. Together with Barbara, who was already there when we arrived, we worked hard putting it all up. We were finished just before eight o’clock in the evening, worn out after a long day. And very proud of a coherent and interesting exhibition on display, starting at 12 noon today. More pictures tomorrow.). Is a group of ei...

magsramsay: Interviewed for Through Our Hands
http://magsramsay.blogspot.com/2015/07/interviewed-for-through-our-hands.html
Experiments with textiles, paints and plants. Friday, 24 July 2015. Interviewed for Through Our Hands. I don't know where the time goes - it's nearly time for the next issue of 'Through Our Hands'. Online magazine and I neglected to flag up that I'd been interviewed by Linda Seward for the current one! She did a brilliant job and at a time when I haven't stitched for months, it's reassuring to be reminded of my work in print. Looking forward to FoQ in just over a weeks time. Labels: Through our Hands.

magsramsay: Ecodyeing at FoQ:Day 1
http://magsramsay.blogspot.com/2015/08/ecodyeing-at-foqday-1.html
Experiments with textiles, paints and plants. Tuesday, 4 August 2015. Ecodyeing at FoQ:Day 1. I'd brought plants from our garden both fresh and dried in herbarium plant press. The last minute collection of bamboo worked particularly well. But it was the yellow of the Macleaya microcarpa (plume poppy) that I liked best especially after an additional ' hocus pocus' dip in iron sulphate. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). International Threads: March 2015
http://international-threads.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 31 March 2015. Sketch, finally finished. Just about in time - I finished my sketch-challenge! It all started with my heaps of scraps:. And, of course, the sketch which seemed everything but feasible (a line tracing of a photo of water swirls I had seen somewhere):. I used techniques from the class with Jan Jean, which I took last year, and in the end, strictly speaking, this is not a quilt. Scraps arranged on solufix, covered with Avalon film, stitched. It waited on the wall for a few days,.

International Threads: 'Working Meeting' in Germany
http://international-threads.blogspot.com/2015/07/working-meeting-in-germany.html
Thursday, 23 July 2015. Working Meeting' in Germany. Gillian came to Germany for her holidays, and after spending a few days in the Alps three members of the group got together for a brief and intensive 'working meeting' during which a number of issues were discussed - and decided! Obviously, I did not take this photo - somehow to me it seems a bit distorted,. But you can still recognize Gillian, Barbara and Uta, from the left. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
