Love the new look! It's really just lovely, modern and cool, but warm and friendly and super old school feeling. The light fixtures are gorgeous and the communal table is genius. We come for Sunday brunch pretty much every week, and the new menu was fantastic - those doughnuts rocked my world. ;). Sad to say...

Not event the time-out of Prohibition could break this tradition. Small-scale craft brewing disappeared after that until the 1970's. But when it returned, beginning with Fritz Maytag's purchase of SF's Anchor Brewing (thereby saving it from imminent closure), the sense of shared purpose was quick to materialize. Val had a conference in New Jersey and we had a wedding to attend in Santa Barbara, the Saturday before. She was able to fly out of Orange County, so we could visit our daughter Bridgit. On Sunday evening. First thing Monday (7/9/07) I got Val off at John Wayne and had breakfast with Bridgit. Before she headed off to work. And I headed off on my road trip! Two Years Before the Mast.
