dreams & small beginnings: Perspective
http://dreamsandsmallbeginnings.blogspot.com/2014/10/perspective.html
Dreams and small beginnings. Friday, October 10, 2014. Tomorrow the smalls come home after 10 days on the big island. I was desperate for them to go and get loved up by grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins along with old friends from my hometown. I want to be the kind of mama that is full of love, patience, wisdom, sacrifice but often I'm just not. Often I want to escape to work, to friends, to activities, to books and stories of others lives. I want rest from the responsibilities of solo parentin...

dreams & small beginnings: March 2012
http://dreamsandsmallbeginnings.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Dreams and small beginnings. Saturday, March 31, 2012. Farewell long summer days. Beautiful little darling with golden ringlets. Sunset at the beach. Boys running wild. Magic. It has been such a wonderful day here. We started early with a garage sale to clear out some bits and pieces and had early hagglers from 7:30 onwards. It was so cool to sell some books to a guy who was on the lookout for 8 books in particular, seven of which I had. It made his day and he was so excited! Links to this post. I leaves...

dreams & small beginnings: April 2012
http://dreamsandsmallbeginnings.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Dreams and small beginnings. Monday, April 30, 2012. I know, I know, I love cold weather, usually. Today it just stinks. I am hating the fact that I don't even care that I wore my ugg boots outside the house (in true bogan style) into the car and drove to training drop off. That is a first for me. Dang blissful relaxed coffee and company! Dang return to reality! The extravagent generosity of friends to make impossible. possible. The hearty laughter of family enjoying an unexpected piece of time together.

Dreams and small beginnings. Friday, May 30, 2014. Who you are when no one is looking. I've been thinking a little bit about my post title of 'who you are when no one is looking' which is one of the phrases that has been deeply etched in my soul from many years ago when I read Bill Hybel's book by the same title. It's a little phrase I remind myself of when I have a choice between good and bad or in a simple way, the easy road or the harder yet more rewarding path. Integrity is a personal choice, an unco...

dreams & small beginnings: May 2012
http://dreamsandsmallbeginnings.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
Dreams and small beginnings. Thursday, May 31, 2012. There's no place like home. Today was one of those days which is just a good day. A few pangs of nostalgia and stirred memories of confusing bittersweet feelings emerged. So fun to be able to pop down to the main street in town and visit family and friends who run various retail businesses in town. To add to the experience is bumping into familiar old faces from the past and share stories and news of recent times. Links to this post. St Mary's Church G...

dreams & small beginnings: July 2012
http://dreamsandsmallbeginnings.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Dreams and small beginnings. Sunday, July 29, 2012. Today's dump of snow on Mt Wellington and subsequent frosty weather has left me with a hankering for a cosy cabin at Cradle Mountain. Fireplace and trip to the spa at the lodge and brisk walks to capture the beauty of the stark winter landscape. Good food and soul rejuvenating scenery. Sounds divine.now for how to make this happen. Links to this post. Thursday, July 26, 2012. To win the prize : the fair maiden's heart. I would be impressed if rather tha...

Dreams and small beginnings. Sunday, June 24, 2012. The question: What should I do? When faced with unusual, uninvited and uninspiring circumstances. The simple answer : Serve him diligently wherever you are. Inspired by a conversation around the dinner table. After all, to become like christ is to lay down your life and serve.whatever the assignment. This piece of art a subtle reminder within a display as. Part of an amazing garden in a little town just outside of my hometown. Links to this post. She ha...

dreams & small beginnings: a place to call home
http://dreamsandsmallbeginnings.blogspot.com/2015/03/a-place-to-call-home.html
Dreams and small beginnings. Monday, March 2, 2015. A place to call home. It's only three sleeps away and the excitement I thought I would feel is yet to kick it. I went to inspect the home I have just purchased this afternoon and I was overwhelmed to say the least. With three days to go, the tenants have left a mess and I felt dirty just walking in. Grease, grime, abandoned furniture, shabby fridge not even worthy of the worst kind of leftovers. I think they are gradually coming on board. But a project ...

dreams & small beginnings: Home Town Blues
http://dreamsandsmallbeginnings.blogspot.com/2014/06/home-town-blues.html
Dreams and small beginnings. Wednesday, June 18, 2014. For whatever reason the topic of my hometown has come up an awful lot this past few weeks. I always feel pretty emotional when I think about memories from home. Especially in recent years when I find myself in the solo waters of raising a family and creating a home for them. I made judgments that they would become fine young people based on the influences that I hold dear of my parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and other extended family. I won't e...
