Life in the Netherlands - Susan Tam. Saturday, April 29, 2006. The infamous "Queen's Night", is the evening before Konninginnedag. Or "Queen's day". This is the Dutch Queen's birthday (not the current Queen Beatrix, but rather Queen Juliana who died in 2004). It's a giant 48 hour birthday party celebrated throughout the Netherlands. Everything, absolutely everything, is transformed into oranje. Maaike, Andi and I went to Ut. Posted by Susan Tam @ 4/29/2006. Tuesday, April 18, 2006. Maaike and I made muff...

In our own little Selwerd 1 flatbar. Though the party officially started at 10pm, there were less than 30 people until about 2:30 in the morning. Then things really started to kick off! Life in the Netherlands - Susan Tam. Wednesday, March 22, 2006. A nice sunny day. It was a nice sunny day. A great opportunity to take a pic of the hospital centre. Really nice, eh? Posted by Susan Tam @ 3/22/2006. Friday, March 17, 2006. A walk in the park. Deva took me to the central park after a stressful day at work. She said that she had wanted to feed the birds. They recognized her right away and flocked to her full loaf of bread. It was just like the Hitchcock movie. They were all around us! Can y...

Life in the Netherlands - Susan Tam: May 2006
http://susanktam.blogspot.com/2006_05_01_archive.html
Life in the Netherlands - Susan Tam. Sunday, May 21, 2006. Big city, little city. Andi had some cheap passes that allow you to take the train an unlimited amount of times anywhere around the Netherlands for a day, and that is just what we did. We decided that Den Haag. So, instead of the beach, we went to see Madurodam. This place is kind of freaky. It's a miniature version of the entire Netherlands and all of its famous landmarks, like churches, museums, bridges, boats, zoos, city centres, the chees...

Life in the Netherlands - Susan Tam. Sunday, August 27, 2006. I'm back in Montreal, my first day back, and this will be my last entry in this blog. There are a few things that I wanted to say that I hope that you are all reading. My trip home was exhausting but adventurous. Life in the Netherlands - Susan Tam: February 2006

Life in the Netherlands - Susan Tam. Tuesday, February 28, 2006. My arrival in Groningen. Upon arriving in Groningen after many hours of planes and trains, Marijke (on the left) from the lab picked me up. She gave me my first taste of the Netherlands by escorting me downtown, a.k.a. the "centrum". I remember that the first thing that struck me about the town is that is was soooo clean! Much cleaner than the streets of Montreal! I felt like I walked right into a postcard. Posted by Susan Tam @ 2/28/2006.
