Guitar 101: July 2011

http://lhefner.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html

The trials and tribulations of building a guitar. Saturday, July 30, 2011. When the spruce arrived from Stewart MacDonald I started working on the top or soundboard. After the success of the back you would think that I would use the same technique to glue up the top that I used to glue up the back, but not me. Glue up jig with lattice strip in center. Plastic sheet to keep the glue from sticking to the hold down bar. C clamps securing the hold down bar. Additional spring clamps to keep the top flat.

Guitar 101: December 2011

http://lhefner.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html

The trials and tribulations of building a guitar. Saturday, December 24, 2011. Back in the Shop. In my last post I got caught up on the blog posts and my working status on the guitar. I mentioned that the Fall semester was over and that I was hoping to use the time over Christmas break to get back to work on the guitar. Well I did just that! Running black and white binding through spring loaded jig. Pulling binding sandwich through. Applying acetone as glue. The edge guide attached to the Dremel tool.

Guitar 101: March 2012

http://lhefner.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html

The trials and tribulations of building a guitar. Monday, March 19, 2012. He had exactly what I needed. My vision is pretty good but I couldn't see well enough to measure and mark that small of an increment. Luckily my wife does a lot of sewing and needle craft and she had a large clamp on magnifying lamp. I couldn't have done this without that! Setting up the ruler at a 90 degree angle on the finger board. Marking the fret positions with an X-Acto knife. Clamping left saw guide. After the glue set up I ...

Monday, April 28, 2008. It is good that there are tutorials and other links available to walk you through programs and sites that are new to you. Exploring on my own forces me to take ownership for my learning and try things I may have never tried had it not been assigned. I am grateful for that! I created my voki tonight, but it took forever. This is so cute, though. Kids would go crazy getting to create their own little character. I hope the link works. Get a Voki now! Friday, April 25, 2008. I am a Ti...

At least, not in the same way. Posted 7 months ago. It’s not actually known if lemons were made by humans or if they were just natural hybrids of citrons and sour oranges. Apparently it’s super common for citrons to fertilize basically anything they’re near. Great now we gotta kinkshame the fruit. We did it a favor.
