This month's photo was taken on a holiday last Easter with the Bergs and Andrew at East Poulary Wood. I like the orange rusty colour in the bottom right corner. The river Garry is flowing out of Loch Poulary just upstream, under the bridge over to the forest on the south side of the glen, and then past our land (well, except the 20m that we don't own to allow for fishing). We had warm pretzels in mid afternoon (cinnamon sugared, mmm) and at the end of the day we had a meal in a local steakhouse before the drive home (about an hour - it was dark by then alas so no more nice views over the ocean). R&C got there first on Thursday to go to a meeting at the pub, the rest of us arrived on Friday evening (or very early Saturday morning). Tuesday, January 04, 2011. Life indoors when it's cold outside. We (R&C&Andrew&me) spent New Year at the Wood, with a friendofparents (Ursula) who came on Sunday. The weather had changed from cold/snowy to cold/wet/grey so there wasn't a lot of attraction to the great outdoors (except see previous post). R did a lot of log-chopping outside and C dragged some logs back from a fallen birch, but apart from that we mostly enjoyed the views from safely inside, in the lovely warm house. Life indoors at New Year.

Sunday, October 23, 2011. From our visit this weekend. JB and AM went ice climbing at Kinlochleven (inside) on Saturday, I watched. AA, CD and AB stayed inside in the dry and made bread and cake.
