gardens by the lake

Gardens by the lake. Thursday, May 15, 2008. The question has been posed - where am I? I've been trying to figure that out. :). The short answer is that I have been feeling burned out with blogging. I thought if I took a break, maybe I'd feel the same excitement I had last year at this time - when I couldn't. To share what was blooming in the gardens each day and spent time visiting all of my friends in Blogland. So, see, there is hope! I promise I will write another post when we return home. I'll ei...

gardens by the lake: I've lost someone special

http://krisgardens.blogspot.com/2008/03/ive-lost-someone-special.html

Gardens by the lake. Saturday, March 1, 2008. I've lost someone special. Babe had back problems and let a lot of the gardens go back to lawn. In the process, she shared countless plants with neighbors and friends. I remember talking to her one year shortly before my birthday. I mentioned that I loved Siberian squill or scilla. On the morning of my birthday, she came down the street with a small bucket full of scilla and other treasures from her garden! Next spring, when the ground has thawed and plants h...

gardens by the lake: sorry!

http://krisgardens.blogspot.com/2008/04/sorry.html

Gardens by the lake. Thursday, April 3, 2008. As much as I love you guys, I really don't want you inside any of my computer programs! I'll keep playing a bit and see if there's any way to show you - photos of the pages or whatever. The program is OneNote - I am liking it a lot. More to come - I hope :). This is a new Hydrangea and I have one plant on order. I have a lot of success with any Hydrangea plants, even the ones I purchased in stores for Easter. They bloom and grow very nicely year after year.

gardens by the lake: a bedroom finally comes together

http://krisgardens.blogspot.com/2008/03/bedroom-finally-comes-together.html

Gardens by the lake. Monday, March 3, 2008. A bedroom finally comes together. Thank you all for your good wishes on my blogiversary. And also for your good thoughts about the loss of my friend Babe. I can't believe that I will never sit and chat with her again - but I feel so fortunate to have known her for so many years. She was a sweetheart. I love it anyway. :). I love the painting and I like how it fits with the wallpaper. I read all your posts and it was fun to get caught up. Take care. M. You've pu...

gardens by the lake: January 2008

http://krisgardens.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html

Gardens by the lake. Saturday, January 19, 2008. Land of bread and honey. Christmas Eve we did a grab bag gift exchange (with a fun little game that involved stealing gifts etc). Mark's dad, Everett, and Marlene brought jars of honey made in Rochester, Minnesota, as their grab bag gifts. Mark ended up with one (yay! Way to go, Mark! This honey is sooooo good - and as a bonus, it qualifies as locally grown food. Later Marlene told me to check out their website, Johnston Honey. Links to this post. Here's a...

Greenie Gardens: June 2009

http://greeniegardens.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html

Wednesday, June 24, 2009. I had a successful trip to the antique show last weekend. I had been wanting someting cast iron for the rose garden area for a while and- viola! It wasn't quite that easy, though. I have spent the last two days scraping peeling and cracked paint off the rusting urn. Two coats of primer and one coat of paint later - it's just right. Oh! And the roses are blooming! And check out my delphinimum! Thursday, June 11, 2009. Thursday, June 4, 2009. And Still More Iris. A Year in Bread.

Enjoying My Every Day Life. Tuesday, November 24, 2009. Kleines Winterdorf - Small winter village.

After a little break today something new. For lunch we had Gnocchi with ground meat, fresh tomatoes (from our own garden), mushrooms, all refined with some basil. A quick and good meal.
