It’s very spring-like outdoors today and my small suburban garden is now looking tidier after I spent an hour shoving dead leaves and other garden litter into the compost bins (not the poo though! Stormy Weather… | My Garden

My small suburban garden…. Diams; June 5, 2015. Diams; Leave a comment. The jasmine, both white and red, are now flowering profusely which has attracted lots of bees. Unfortunately, for the second year running not one of those little creatures seems to want to make it’s next in any of my 3 carefully constructed bee hotels. The mint and buddleia are thriving, but then again they always do. All in all, I’m not (yet) very impressed. I’m hoping that things will improve soon…. Posted in: January 2011.

My small suburban garden…. Better Late Than Never…. Diams; March 12, 2016. Diams; 1 Comment. I have to admit that due to my disappointment regarding the lack of colour and wildlife in my small suburban garden during 2015 I’ve been reluctant to venture outdoors to see if anything ‘exciting‘ is happening. However, determined that there WILL be some colour out there this year, I’ve recently purchased a large pack of …. Continue reading →. Diams; December 29, 2015. Diams; Leave a comment. My small suburban garden…. Diams; April 21, 2015. Diams; Leave a comment. The sun is shining and all appears to be going according to plan in my Small Suburban Garden. The wildflower seeds I scattered in planters and borders a few weeks ago are beginning to grow (although they’d stand a better chance if the local cats would stop digging them up) and the polyanthus have decided to flower. Wait! Was that a hot flash? | Exile From Hysteria
https://exilefromhysteria.wordpress.com/2013/03/20/wait-was-that-a-hot-flash
When a hysterectomy is not the ending, but a beginning. Was that a hot flash? By Jillian Bogater (Exile From Hysteria). My first hot flash took me by surprise. I was snuggled in on my recovery recliner, wrapped up in a sweater, a blanket and wearing slippers. I always run cold, and have taken to covering up instead of engaging in Themostat Wars with Matt. Even with the blanket, I still make him concede to a 70-degree temperature when I am home. 8220;Honey, is it hot in here? Still, I knew there was a cha...

Counselling was previously billed as a ‘fun session’ this week, but Family Therapy is about as much fun as a visit to the dentist in my opinion. The Insane Ramblings of a Middle-Aged Peroxide Blonde…. College (Week 13)…. The Physio Appointment…. Essence Of Summer (Poem)…. October 20, 2012. About 3 years ago I entered a poetry competition. The topic was ‘The Essence of Summer’ (ie: what I feel summer means to me). It didn’t win (can’t even remember what the prize was) but I thought I’d share it with you anyway…. Summer, to me, means seasidey things,. Swimsuits, and sandals and vests made of string,. Kiss me quick hats and ice creams with flake,.

The Insane Ramblings of a Middle-Aged Peroxide Blonde…. Essence Of Summer (Poem)…. The Physio Appointment…. October 20, 2012. The phrase ‘pain in the neck’ is used by most of us to describe an irritating person or an unwelcome situation; however a physical pain in the neck can become so much more than just a nuisance and can be a major source of all manner of both physical and emotional woes, not only for the afflicted but for those around them too. I’m not entirely sure what sort of specialist. Back hom...

Lavenham walks series – The Serial Geocacher
https://theserialgeocacher.wordpress.com/2013/03/23/lavenham-walks-series
Trying to bag as many caches as we can. Location: Lavenham, Suffolk. Completed: 7 March 2013. To see the first in the series. There are a couple of Lavenham Walks series which start in the medieval wool town of Lavenham. We did the longer series with 13 caches to the west of the village, identifiable from the shorter series of 7 caches by the fact that the numbers don’t have the suffix ‘a’. The walk took us about 2.5 hours, but this did include a short detour to do the Suffolk Pillbox cache. All in all a...

My small suburban garden…. That Don’t Impress Me Much…. Diams; August 1, 2015. Diams; Leave a comment. Well actually, my small suburban garden doesn’t impress me at all this year! I can’t remember the last time I was so underwhelmed with the lack of floral displays and I can’t help but wonder if Mother Nature is to blame for the fact that I’ve only seen a couple of small white butterflies and one solitary peacock on my buddleia so far this.
