The weblog of Ian and Lauren McLaren. About the mclaren’s. Due to the fact that Lauren and I are expecting our son to arrive … well, really at any time, I don’t anticipate being able to sit down and pound out many posts anytime soon. The weblog of Ian and Lauren McLaren. About the mclaren’s. August 13th, 2005. That was the day that Lauren and I got married, and while it kind of was, I’m not prepared to say that it was the happiest day of my life, because every day that I have the privilege of being Lauren’s husband is a blessing. And it really didn’t take me very long to realize that I wanted to be her husband, either. I remember one letter in particular where I expressed to Lauren that I could not imagine my life without her. Our fi...

The weblog of Ian and Lauren McLaren. About the mclaren’s. It’s hard to beat the system when you’re standing at a distance …. Bought us the new John Mayer. CD for Christmas, and after multiple listens, I am here to offer up a brief review of this tremendous album. I have been a fan ever since I saw John Mayer on the Grammy’s a few years ago. I quickly went out and picked up. And I did not hesitate to pick up his sophmore album,. Is, to me, by far his best work to date. The Heart of Life. In the light of ...

Some Stuff I Typed. Friday, June 19, 2009. We now know when we are moving (and how we are moving) back to Winnipeg. After looking at different options (U-Haul, moving companies, train, etc. We, or rather, our fathers, have come up with the most cost-effective way of return. Dad H and Daddy N are driving down together in Jon's parents' pick-up, and we'll be returning with a U-Haul trailer in tow! Road trip with the dads! As much as I am looking forward to life back in Winnipeg, I am not wanting to move!

Some Stuff I Typed. Wednesday, January 21, 2009. My purse sometimes feels heavier than I think it should.and I discovered why a couple days ago! I have this thing with lip balm, as most girls do, and have always had at least one in my pocket, backpack, or purse since probably grade 7. Five minutes later, and after much excitement. I'd like to point out that all the lip balms were given to me- I don't have a lip balm-buying addiction! Tuesday, January 13, 2009. It was also very convenient as far as gettin...

Some Stuff I Typed. Sunday, December 14, 2008. Things that have happened since my last post:. Made good Hamilton friends. Worked at a bookstore (in addition to the tutoring). Had many a cry. Had many a laugh- one that was so hard it made me cry, actually! Became at peace with not renewing my Ontario Teachers Certification/not teaching while in Hamilton. Painted with watercolours and oils.and quite loved it (and still do love it). Had a mom visit. Caught and held on to a couple colds! I love people, I lov...

The weblog of Ian and Lauren McLaren. About the mclaren’s. Permission to speak freely by anne jackson. A couple of years ago, Anne Jackson posed the following question on her blog, flowerdust.net. What is one thing you feel you can’t say in church? That post, and the overwhelming response thereto, was the genesis of this book, which features essays and art on fear, confession, and grace. Permission To Speak Freely. 8211; 2007 was the one September where we actually stayed in the same place. I, howeve...

The weblog of Ian and Lauren McLaren. About the mclaren’s. It’s that time of year again, friends. The leaves are turning color, the baseball playoffs have started [Roy Halladay … wow! And a new NHL. Season is upon us. And so, as I do, here are some predictions on what will transpire between now and June 2011. Vancouver Canucks vs. Pittsburgh Penguins. Note: The Caps will have great regular season success, but will once again flame out in the playoffs. Think of them as the Suns of the NHL. Trackback ( 0 ).
