Waking Life

Wednesday, September 08, 2010. I have been contemplating for some time about whether to continue this blog. It was begun as a means to communicate with family that does not live in town, and that has been the only reason I have kept up with it for so long. In order to be more available to my family and on the computer less, I have decided to discontinue blogging. GASP! For now, anyway. Instead I hope to send out emails with pictures a few times a year (maybe quarterly? Monday, May 10, 2010. Just to catch...

Waking Life: An Update

http://www.jwolt.blogspot.com/2010/05/update.html

Monday, May 10, 2010. We’ve crossed a milestone around here lately. Toby is potty training! He heard me use the term “potty training” and now he keeps talking about how he wants to “ride the potty train, choo choo! 8221; So it is going great and he’s wearing undies everyday! Yeah, I get a break from diapers before the next one comes – which will be right around December 14! This time in order to avoid another c-section. She is so funny. A few times lately I’ve looked at her and noticed how quic...The pot...

Waking Life: February 2010

http://www.jwolt.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html

Friday, February 26, 2010. Those of you who do not know all of my secrets. May not know that I am a big science fiction/fantasy fan. I am always a little embarrassed to admit this. I think it is because most people either love it or hate it. There isn't much middle ground (except for amazing classics like. The Lord of the Rings. The Chronicles of Narnia. It is the rare book that can bridge the gap. Anyway, I convinced Kevin to read C.S. Lewis's. Myself in little bits. If that makes any sense at all.

Waking Life: December 2009

http://www.jwolt.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html

Friday, December 25, 2009. Every year we are caught in a struggle of making Christmas meaningful.  Of somehow keeping ourselves focused on celebrating the Christ child without losing ourselves (or our children) in the by-product of the season.  How do we come up with ways to make this meaningful every year? 160; People always talk about “the reason for the season” which is the most cliche phrase, but that is what I mean. This Little Babe from “Ceremony of Carols”. His martial ensigns (. But a broken wall;.

Waking Life: The big 2.

http://www.jwolt.blogspot.com/2010/04/big-2.html

Thursday, April 22, 2010. Toby turned 2 over the weekend and we had a really nice party with both sides of the family here. The kids played really well, I wasn't stressed out, our families all seemed to enjoy themselves, and Toby was absolutely delighted. He and Elinore have not stopped playing with his new things all week. These pictures all seem to have caught him with a serious expression - not representative at all. To the enthusiasm he was displaying! What a handsome young man!

Waking Life: September 2009

http://www.jwolt.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html

Sunday, September 13, 2009. A while ago I mentioned that I was making a baby carrier. Well, I realized I never posted any photos, and now I've made two! After making the first one I had to make a few pattern adjustments, and I think the second one came out much nicer (although you probably won't be able to tell anything from the pictures). You can use these from birth up to about 35lbs (if you can carry 35lbs! This is one that someone asked me to make for them. With the hood down. Toby going for a ride!

Rewiring my brain, day 4 - Ancora Imparo. I am still learning. Amazon is my friend. 26 March 2012 @ 08:53 pm. Rewiring my brain, day 4. 1 Humbling experiences. Nothing like having a smart-aleck 4th grader remind you that you cant immediately smooth over all behavior issues with a few empathetic words and a fancy degree. 2 NPR I just love it. 3 Early bedtime, especially after a sleepless night. Sooooo goooood.

The day to day footsteps......: The Road of Resolution for 2011

http://princessemsey.blogspot.com/2011/01/road-of-resolution-for-2011.html

The day to day footsteps. Hope deferred make the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life" Proverbs 13:12. Tuesday, January 11, 2011. The Road of Resolution for 2011. Resolution is good, and these steps will help us keep on the right road with God through the year. Reaffirm your relationship with God. He has shown you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. Confess your sin and ask God to forgive you.

Bodine Island: 2013 Sept Quebec-Maine

http://bodinefamily.blogspot.com/2013/09/weve-been-in-quebec-day-and-half-and.html

Thursday, September 05, 2013. We've been in Quebec a day and a half and seem to have walked miles - around the Citadel, through Bas Ancien Quebec down by the St Lawrence River, across the Fields of Abraham (the old battlefield),. Tomorrow we'll drive out to the big waterfall northeast of the city and probably explore the broader area a bit, and then Friday we head for Baxter State Park. It'll be quite a contrast going from our B&B to a campsite, and we heard it'll be pretty cold, but our new tent sho...

I read this quote, taken from babycenter.com, right after I had just spent about five minutes repeating bldah, bldah, bldah (imagine running your tongue on your bottom teeth/lip while trying to say lalala) back and forth with Hazel. Bodine Island: January 2012

http://bodinefamily.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html

Sunday, January 29, 2012. Three and a half months. Evelyn rolled over for the first time the other day, but I was at work and missed it. So this morning I thought I'd try to capture it on camera and she rolled over before I could even get it! So this is take two. Sunday, January 22, 2012. The bottle of face wash with tea tree oil says in all caps "AVOID CONTACT WITH EYES" (as most soaps do). But this one you really should go to great lengths to keep away from your eyes. Trust me. Rocky theRebel

It took me way too long to post up the fact that Rocky is sold. Didn’t expect her to sell so quick, so I put her on craigslist and in under 24 hours she was gone. Craziness. Anyway, on to the next project. I learned a whole lot building this bike, which is the reason I bought her to begin with. Enjoy these last few photos that were snapped of her before she was sold. I snapped a few photos after work today. Enjoy them below along with some others from the build. Hayoooo. She grew a pair. Besides that, I ...
