Reflecting Space: 2008-05-25
http://reflectingspace.blogspot.com/2008_05_25_archive.html
A blog: a journey to south africa and beyond. Wednesday, May 28, 2008. Not quite a rainbow nation…. As I write, a violent storm rages over Durban with sheet lightening spreading across the sky. I’ve been conscious all week of the need to blog as dark clouds have gathered over South Africa with the outbreak of xenophobic attacks sweeping the country. Sadly it’s not escaped Durban, a region of South Africa already tarnished with a recent history of tribal and political violence. Posted by Joe Walker.

Reflecting Space: Collecting thoughts...stories to tell
http://reflectingspace.blogspot.com/2008/04/collecting-thoughtsstories-to-tell.html
A blog: a journey to south africa and beyond. Sunday, April 6, 2008. Collecting thoughts.stories to tell. Posted by Joe Walker. Good to read your blog. It's true, personal stories are the most powerful, and sitting here at my desk in E5, London, I feel I can share a bit of the impact that your experiences are having on you. The contrast between the surfer doing his crossword, and the man lying dying on the street is such a stark, tragic illustration of the contradictons you must see there everyday.

A blog: a journey to south africa and beyond. Saturday, March 1, 2008. What am I doing here? Welcome to the blog! Hello from Durban, South Africa. Instead of clogging up your inbox with rambling emails, I hope this will be a less intrusive way of sharing our stories and reflections with you all. This is my first stab. Reflecting Space: Re-learning the streets and the perfect wave!
http://reflectingspace.blogspot.com/2008/03/re-learning-streets-and-perfect-wave.html
A blog: a journey to south africa and beyond. Saturday, March 15, 2008. Re-learning the streets and the perfect wave! The intense heat of the last 10 days has also finally been broken by huge and at times terrifying thunderstorms that have crashed and echoed over the city at night. I awoke this morning to find the storms have passed and bright hot sunshine is spread across the city. Its another day in Africa! Posted by Joe Walker. All is well here though snow is due tomorrow! Lots and lots of love Bex xxx.

Reflecting Space: Slowing the pace down
http://reflectingspace.blogspot.com/2008/03/slowing-pace-down.html
A blog: a journey to south africa and beyond. Saturday, March 8, 2008. Slowing the pace down. The reality of living here for nine months is only just dawning on me. Usually I arrive and spend my time intensely soaking up as much of the work, people and culture around me. Over the past few days I’ve spent more time waking and thinking on the beach than I have over the last ten years of visiting Durban. Posted by Joe Walker. March 8, 2008 at 1:19 AM. Our thoughts are with you and your lady wife.
