Entering the winter months! I did get to do a little hunting the next day where I limited out on Chukar in Eastern Oregon. It was quite a bit of hiking for a few birds. But, it is nice to just get out in the middle of nowhere to find some peace and quiet aside from the occasional gun blast. I tend to do the majority of my thinking trekking around whether it’s on my bike or hiking. 8220;What kinds of things do you like to do”? The next day we finally were able to ride together around Redmon. As I write th...

RACE RECAP: UCI 1.2 PEVELOISE. I first want to say thanks for all the care, support, and comments during this crazy time in Europe with my injury and all! I can’t convey enough how much it means and helps with recovery. But here is a little recap of the whole situation since I’ve had plenty of time in the hospital to crank out a summary. Before and after surgery. Not a bad view from the hospital window (church and bell towers of Brugge in the distance). FIRST DAYS and UCI 1.2 DWARS DOOR HET HAGELAND.

PHOTO BLOG season recap through the lens. So to sum up my season and to catch up on the blog updates, I have uploaded some pics to summarize this season. It turned out to be a decent year but I am definitely looking forward to 2010 as I begin my off season training once again. How the time flies! Started the '09 season with the Cherry Blossom stage race. This is stage 1 in the chilly and windy area of The Dalles. The race I anticipated the most out of the season was the Cascade Cycling Classic. My go...

It's that time of year. Clouds rolling in, crisp air biting at my lungs, leaves changing colors, darkness setting in around 6 or 7 in the evening…it is apparent fall is near and so begins the off-season training. Luckily the rain has been scant and there have been no hints of snow yet so riding outside is still feasible and I can avoid the monotony of riding the trainer…for now. Now is also a good time to for me try and keep the blog updated and show the progress during my off-season. . 24th Cherry Bloss...

Time to get back to the bloggin'! Took some rest time from the bike and the blogs. The past two weeks consisted of some time off the bike, sittin' in the steam room, stretching, and some base mileage rides. The mind and legs were feeling a little better after taking the mid-season break. Although, to top it off, allergy season is in full swing which just isn't any fun! The stuffy nose and itchy eyes can make for some miserable days. Out of a 100 riders. . UCI 112 Denain, France. 160;The race was fairly f...

The Upward Descent: April 2010
http://bobhorn.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Every cyclist knows that we live for an awesome descent. But you rarely find an awesome descent without the upward climb. As a follower of Christ, I agree with Jesus' disciple John who wrote, "He must increase, but I must decrease." (John 3:30 NKJV). For me, my life is about climbing closer to Christ by finding an exhilarating descent as "I decrease." It's the "Upward Descent.". Tuesday, April 20, 2010. Just a few miles more and we reached Red Cup Café. This café is warm and inviting with zany artwork, s...
