Link to PDF file). My art work to date has been about human to human connection, the loss of it, the denial of it and the celebration of it. Currently I am. Searching for uninhibited connections with other people as either a product of my art or just drawing attention to the lack of it through my art. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Brief Statement: | janetmaywilliams
https://janetmaywilliams.wordpress.com/2009/03/29/brief-statement
My current art work is about human connections. I combine ‘the abject’ and live performance in an attempt to create an undefined and identity-less human body and thus hopefully create an uninhibited connection between the audience and performer. I do live performance because what really matters to me are lived experiences. Laquo; Welcome To my site…. Date : March 29, 2009. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Jackqualyn Gray: Exterior
http://tenjani.blogspot.com/2008/10/exterior-invites-viewer-to-press-their.html
Friday, October 24, 2008. Exterior invites the viewer to press their ear against the window pane. The basis of communications technology is vibration and the conversion of sonic waves to electrical current which is how we interpret sound. By placing the ear against the pane the viewer engages the acoustic phenomena of hearing and is brought a dimension closer to the outside world. Exhibited IADT, Dublin, February 2008. Jackqualyn Gray: Duration
http://tenjani.blogspot.com/2008/11/tuning-fork-is-rapped-and-held-at-one.html
Friday, November 14, 2008. The tuning fork is rapped and held at one end of the wood while the listener places their ear against the other end. As the sound dissipates and becomes inaudible the listener is drawn to the fact that the perception of sound is inseparable from the perception of time. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Jackqualyn Gray: Composition using Air and Water Displacement
http://tenjani.blogspot.com/2008/11/composition-using-air-and-water.html
Friday, November 14, 2008. Composition using Air and Water Displacement. He most remarkable thing about hearing is that the process is entirely mechanical. The eardrum vibrates in response to pressure. This work exploits the fact. The stethoscope increases the tension between the eardrum and surrounding air. Water is used to block and unblock airflow creating a tapping effect on the eardrum. Labels: Composition Using Air and Water Displacement. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). JANETMAZENIER
My artistic practice investigates how the human condition is constructed, affected and altered by its experiencing of physical space. As such, I explore understandings of personal/psychological and collective/social experience of space and spatiality. Incorporated into this is a questioning of how memory influences our perception of space within the realms of design, architecture and aspects of mass media. My paintings and photography are represented by the Flagstaff Gallery in Devonport, New Zealand.
