His yoke is light and easy. 세상의 멍에는 우리를 억누를 뿐이다. 그러나 삶의 기쁨과 행복은 그분이 주시는 참 자유안에 있다. 나의 질병도 그 자유를 뺏을 수 없으며 오히려 그 자유를 위해 써 질수 있음을 믿는다. 4월 21, 2007. 내가 나의 침상에서 주를 기억하며 밤중에 주를 묵상할 때에 하오리니. 주는 나의 도움이 되셨음이라. 내가 주의 날개 그늘에서 즐거이 부르리이다. 나의 영혼이 주를 가까이 따르니 주의 오른손이 나를 붙드시거니와. 나의 영혼을 찾아 멸하려 하는 저희는 땅 깊은 곳에 들어가며. 우슬초로 나를 정결케 하소서 내가 정하리이다 나를 씻기소서 내가 눈보다 희리이다. 의인은 고난이 많으나 여호와께서 그 모든 고난에서 건지시는도다. 그 모든 뼈를 보호하심이여 그 중에 하나도 꺾이지 아니하도다.

암에서 회복하고 있는 한 목사의 묵상. 6월 12, 2007. 교회에 같이 섬기시던 집사님 내외분이 폭우가운데 운전하시다가 강에 빠져 돌아가셨다는 슬픈 소식을 듣게 되었다. http:/ www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/news/localnews/stories/0607dnmetmissingcouple.1f033c19.html. 하나님이 우리에게 구하시는 것은 많은 업적을 이루는 것이 아니라 하루 하루 주어진 삶에서 얼마나 최선을 다했는 것이다. 누구에게는 다섯 달란트의 삶이 주어졋을 수도 있겟지만 우리 많은 이에게는 한 달란트의 삶이 주어졌기 때문이다. 우리가 받은 한 달란트를 잘 가꾸고 발전시킬때 우리 삶을 통해 하나님이 역사하시리라 믿는다. 그리고 그 보석같은 삶은 우리가 이 세상을 떠난 뒤에 그 진가를 발휘해 우리의 삶을 witness하였던 이들을 통해 계속 빛을 발할 것이다. 암에서 회복하고 있는 한 목사의 묵상. 5월 2, 2007. 불확실속에서 기다림은 참 어려운 것이다. 기다리는 가운데 수많은 possibilities 가 머리로 지나간다. 미래를 알 수없기에 두려움에 가득차기도 하고 혹시나 하는 희망에 기대를 걸기도 한다. 모든 것이 내 손 안에 달려서 내가 control하면 좋겠지만 내 건강도 자식들도 미래도 내 마음대로 할 수 없기에 무력함을 금할수 없다. 항상 내가 더 이상 기다리지 못하고 포기하고 싶을때 하나님은 나에게 조그만 희망의 기희를 주신다. 답답하고 이 숨막히는 상황에서 벗어나고 싶을 때 인내할수 있는 소망을. 는 연단을, 연단은. 을 이루는 줄을 알기 때문입니다. 은 우리를 낙심시키지 않습니다. 하나님께서 우리에게 주신. 을 우리 마음에 부어 주셨기 때문입니다 (롬 5:3-5).”. 기다림이 없다면 믿음도 소망도 있을 자리가 없을 것이다. 오늘까지 신실하셨던 하나님을 기억하면서 오늘도 기다린다. 나의 믿음과 소망에 응답하실 그 날을.
