Thursday, August 9, 2007. Senseless murder of young local man. The family of Liam Devlin, the Burnfoot man killed in Derry in the early hours of Saturday morning are still in a state of shock following his violent death. The 19-year-old died in Altnagelvin hospital from head injuries sustained in an assault in the Creggan Estate at around 2.30am. Liam had gone to the aid of his younger brother, John, after he became involved in a row. The assailants then turned on Liam, inflicting fatal head injuries.
