Ian J. Kettlewell • Heist!
https://ianjk.com/post/51198163777/heist
Heist is a game created over the course of the entire Spring 2013 semester by a team of three other students and myself. Heist was made as part of the course “Game Production” taught at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute by professor Michael Lynch. Above: The beautiful mansion level. The player can be seen in the center above the plant. We created Heist over the course of the semester, starting in mid to late February and ending in late April. The time frame was relatively short for what we had to get ...
Ian J. Kettlewell • Audio wave thingy
https://ianjk.com/post/79523875302/audio-wave-thingy
Yesterday I prototyped a wave thing. It’s something I’ve been conceptualizing for a long time, and it still needs more work, but I like what I have so far. Click the image to try it out. Reblogged this from finalflag. Blog comments powered by Disqus. A space for me to log my experiments, thoughts, and designs. Mdash; Tumblr themes.

Found an Illustrator experiment while browsing an old hard-drive. The User’s Mind is Full. Ludum Dare 31 Lazy Hero. I worked on this game for Ludum Dare 31. I only joined the team for the last few hours, but it was fun! Playing around with procedural world generation. The world has this unintentional interesting retro look because of its blocky nature, because I used the default colors, and because the waves are straight lines when zoomed out. The yearly blog update. During the last semester I worked on ...

Tranquil and this Week’s Results. This week I worked on the physics of Mine and Defend. I refined slopes, made some basic “zombie” enemies as a test. I also started to design an enemy that finds and picks up a helmet to wear so he can better defend against the player’s attacks. On an different note, I wanted to document the game Tranquil. I chose tranquility and designed a game around the basic premise of finding sources of noise and removing them to restore tranquility to the world. The character (the b...

The coloration of the terrain is determined by a simulated environment. Water is picked up off the ocean and carried over the terrain where it rains when passing over mountains. In these pictures the wind is from the South-East, creating a rain-shadow effect on the large mountain where it rains on one side but not the other. Temperature is also simulated. North and south are cold, and so are high altitudes. Where it is both humid and cold, there is snow. Blog comments powered by Disqus.

Ian Jindal - Leadership and transformation in multichannel retail and eCommerceIan Jindal | Leadership and transformation in multichannel retail and eCommerce
Leadership and transformation in multichannel retail and eCommerce. Keynote at Ometria conference. Oct 17, ’17. It was my pleasure to open the Ometria Lifecycle conference with a keynote on ‘Connecting with the Connected Customer’ – one of my persistent themes, focused on how retailers and brands can connect effectively and profitably with demanding consumers. Taking insights from the IREU Top500 I looked at 6 challenges that retailers need to overcome in order to succeed. And details of Lifecycle 2017.

Tuesday, April 29, 2014. I see you little wonder,. Tiny as you are,. Sewing your home,. In a great big place. Your tiny flight,. Makes my heart beat raise,. Just a simple being flying free,. Getting things done in almost unseen ways. Your tiny eyes spot wonder,. Finding grub that to some,. Is not even worth the ponder,. You made a home from what is useless no longer. Your tiny feet,. Lands from tree to tree,. Potentially sowing seeds as you live your tiny print,. I see you Tiny Wonder,. Let life bring ba...

Old Fashioned Common Sense
Old Fashioned Common Sense. Why do we ignore common sense? When did it become wrong to follow our instincts, our principles? Saturday, December 26, 2009. Equality is never easy to achieve, it is a war that goes on forever, yet many seem to forget that. Oh sure, we may win the right to marry in this city, that state, and even across nations, but it is never a true victory. The foe does not give up, does not accept defeat. Monday, October 5, 2009. The regular worker, scheduled for today, apparently called ...
How to Design a Garden or a Product
How to Design a Garden or a Product. When I thought about the landscape of the garden I noticed there were fewer plants in the garden than would grow naturally. Some shrubs sprouted here and there, but certainly not the undergrowth one would expect from such a location. There is an obvious revelation here: people take care of the garden. And that is what so impressed me about Japan’s approach to design: they curate and cultivate what is naturally there. In the West design is often the process of creating...
