I know many of you think taking pictures of food is at least as annoying as McDonald's commercials on your Pandora station, and at most as annoying as the car in front of you who completely misses the green arrow during rush hour. But this is just a concept I don't understand. Why wouldn't people want to look at good food? Why do you have to feel shameful when you instagram your food?

Life Or Something Like It: "Pfft... [eye roll] Tourists!"
http://rikkitikkitavi2.blogspot.com/2014/07/pfft-eye-roll-tourists.html
Monday, July 28, 2014. Pfft [eye roll] Tourists! Growing up and going to Hawaii on family vacations, being spotted out as a tourist was my absolute worst nightmare. Not sharks, not riptides, not being haunted by my poor choices in beach attire for many years to come. Exhibit A:. But really, I would probably buy that gold suit all over again if the Universe presented it. Now, living in the most popular tourist destination in the world. Can I get a big woot woot? Like tonight, Jason and I were coming home ...

Life Or Something Like It: September 2010

Friday, September 10, 2010. Why I Know I'm Going Crazy:. Today the walk home from campus was great. Temperature was just perfect, it's a Friday and the weekend can officially start, I could smell the hints of fall in the air (or maybe that was just Brick Oven.) nothing could stop the day from satisfactioning me. Or so I thought. Just when I'm at my peak of enjoyment I realize there's some crazy person walking right. The person slowed down to an identical crawl, steps matching mine to the very beat. Well ...

Tuesday, July 30, 2013. How Do I Love Thee? Let Me Count the GIFS. For two years now Mr. Jason James Sandvik, sometimes referred to as Jay Jay, JJ Smokes, JJ Cool S, has been rocking his role as husband in chief. And since he brings me so much marital bliss, I thought the best way to return the favor would be by telling him some of my favorite parts of our marriage. Through GIFs. 1 Your Reaction When I Turn off the Lights. 2 The Way I Feel When You Talk About Women's Rights. 15 That You Love Salads.

Life Or Something Like It: March 2011
http://rikkitikkitavi2.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Friday, March 4, 2011. Seven years is a long time by anyone's standards. Seven years was a long time for Brad Pitt when he was stuck in Tibet. I don't remember anything about that movie except Brad had some gnarly beard action going on and that Tibet isn't exactly a dream vacation destination pour moi. I also know that seven years was a long time to have anorexic cows in Moses' day, and that it's a long time to have bad luck for after your ugly face shatters the mirror. Count on to be interested in every...

Life Or Something Like It: May 2013

Sunday, May 12, 2013. Paris of the West. DISCLAIMER: When I was uploading pics from my camera to my dear old mac, something happened which I thought only happened to other people - the pictures DISAPPEARED! Seriously. Okay, not all of them, but all of the best ones! As of last week, Jason and I have become Parisians. Last year, Jason and I decided we wanted to get out of Utah and take a little adventure. I hadn't gone on a study abroad for over a year and was just itching to get out of the 801. When Jaso...

brazen (adj): bold self-assurance, shameless: Social Work Theme Songs
http://brazenasian.blogspot.com/2013/02/social-work-theme-songs.html
Tuesday, February 19, 2013. Social Work Theme Songs. Since my life has become all consumed by everything social work, it comes as no surprise that I am now listening to songs which are social worky in nature. If social work had a theme song, I would nominate these two: The Broken Ones by Dia Frampton and What It's Like by EVERLAST. With soulful and heartfelt lyrics, these songs encapsulate social work's missions and values in song. Enjoy! The Broken Ones by Dia Frampton. I know they've hurt you bad.

Sunday, July 7, 2013. Post originally written on 3/11/13. It's 1 am and I'm weaving the last threads of a beautifully written manuscript (translation: I just wrote a lengthy paper for school and my mind is reeling with thoughts upon thoughts). I hear a bird singing a song outside of my window. My first thoughts, why the hell is a bird singing at 1 o'clock in the morning? Doesn't it know that sunrise is hours away? I brush it off and mutter something along the lines of "stupid bird". Sunday, July 07, 2013.
