Thursday, September 29, 2011. I remember playing with chalk when I was little. We didn't have a lot of cement at my house, but what we did, always seemed to be covered with the chalky colors. Hop-scotch and tick-tack-toe were always better in chalk. When my girls are older, I want them to look back and have those happy, gitty moments with the twinkle in their big blue eyes. As a parent, there are certain things I remember as a little kid that I want to pass on to my girls. Chalk is DEFINITELY one of them.

Monday, December 26, 2011. We had our family of four Christmas. I love all the Christmases but I think this may be my favorite. It's a nice day that we can relax and celebrate on our own schedule! With John's work schedule we pushed most of our Christmas celebration a day ahead, but luckily the girls are young enough that they didn't notice! Our day started off with a family tradition that came from John's family. Christmas stockings! Ada and Evie did get something in their stockings. We all loved it!

Friday, December 24, 2010. It is a long Christmas tradition for John's family, that every Christmas Eve before bed, everyone gets into bed and reads Christmas books. We read the girls new "The Night Before Christmas" and "Polar Express" as well as John's OLD copy of "Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer". Sarah Reading to Evie and Ada. Sunday, May 29, 2011. Return Trip to the Salon. This time it was for Evan. Evan was starting to sport the Justin Bieber hair-do, so we thought it was time for a cut. Evan was excited to see the salon and all of the toys, but once the stylist sprayed his hair with water it was all over. He was upset the rest of the time. He really hated having his hair blow dried! Wednesday, April 27, 2011. Easter weekend was filled with many fun and exciting activities. On Friday we went to Grandma and Grandpa Roberts' to decorate eggs. Saturday we went to Grandma and Grandpa Tribolet's hotel to swim. Sunday morning we were visited by the Easter Bunny and went to church. Sunday afternoon we had the everyone over for Easter dinner and the kids had an Easter egg hunt. Evan watching the egg decorating. Enlisting the help of Grandma. Taking a dip in the pool. Friday, April 22, 2011. Breakfast with the Bunny. On Sunday we went to Reiman Gardens in Ames for an Easter Egg Hunt and Breakfast with the Easter Bunny. It was a fun event and Marin absolutely loved the Easter Bunny! Enjoying a sprinkle donut. Marin getting her face painted. The result; a flower in her favorite colors, pink and purple. Sunday, March 20, 2011. Last week was Marin's Spring Break, even though she only goes to preschool two mornings a week. Here are a few fun highlights from our week;. A few days before spring break Evan got his first tooth! Marin went to see Madagascar Live with Grandma Michelle. Evan learned how to do "so big" and he is very proud of himself. Saturday, April 23, 2011. A Trip to the Salon. We took Marin to the salon to get her hair cut for Easter. Normally we take her to Great Clips, but the end result was never that great, maybe because she hates to sit still for more than 2 minutes! So we took her to the Lollipop, a salon for kids. It was a wonderful experience, the stylist was great and her hair looks adorable! Getting her hair washed. She got to eat a lollipop and sit on the cool lion while getting her hair cut. Getting the royal treatment.
