Reflections on the vast world of multiculturalism in Connecticut. Tuesday, October 17, 2006. The Shubert open its doors. Ok, ok, I know it has been awhile since my last post, but here I am, ready to share some thoughts with you. Once inside the venue, the artists rocked the house. I would have never imagined to see so much energy in the stage. Big beats, ranchera samplers and Puerto Rican laud guitar, emerged from the stage at the Shubert to a audience ready to dance, party and have a great time.

Reflections on the vast world of multiculturalism in Connecticut. Wednesday, August 23, 2006. Indian food: "You are not Mexican". I have never been a fan of spicy food. There is a misconception that all Hispanics like to eat chiles. That is not right. The chile and jalapeno come from Mexico, but in many countries of South America these products do not grow, or if they do, do not have the power and taste of their Mexican counterparts. Are you ready to order? He said, with a big smile behind his moustache.

Where I come to vent my brain. Laquo; Digital dependence: Is it a good thing? No, I didn’t fall off the face of the Earth…. November 24, 2010. As I stated in a recent post. I’ve had a sort of mental funk overtake my world lately and I couldn’t figure out why or what to do to get rid of it. It turns out, I’m not alone. Many of the emotional aspects mentioned in that post rang true for me, which I find oddly encouraging. In 2005, ABCNews. Chimed in just over a year ago with a quiz to see. The best thing I ...

Reflections on the vast world of multiculturalism in Connecticut. Wednesday, September 27, 2006. We're all ready to Hold Steady. All is quiet on New Year's day," Bono sings. Last January 1st was, for me, anything but quiet. I am almost sure that I went to see The Hold Steady at the Backroom at Bar that day. I mentioned a couple of posts ago that I was going to talk about Thali, New Haven's new Indian restaurant. I only have one word for it: Excellent. This is one of those rare cases where, in a r...The f...

Where I come to vent my brain. Archive for February, 2011. February 17, 2011. So my sister’s big day is rapidly approaching – less than 2 days! I am so sorry that I haven’t posted anything more yet on here. I didn’t want to post anything that other people had not yet seen. Where I come to vent my brain. Dressed for success, or for a nap? September 5, 2010. Last week, classes began here at the university. And schools nationwide should all be opening their doors this coming week (if they haven’t already). My mother also works at a university. And this weekend we were sharing our thoughts on the college student dress code we’ve noticed over the last few years. These are not the only possible scenarios, but I would really love to know what makes students think that they should...
