Tech Reflect: Using Podcasts in the Classroom
http://edutechreflections.blogspot.com/2011/05/using-podcasts-in-classroom-mod-12.html
Monday, May 2, 2011. Using Podcasts in the Classroom. Take Seth Meyer's recent remarks at the White House Correspondent's Dinner. For example. Surely, this example is a combination of humor and political registry, but listen from the perspective of an ELL and you'll quickly realize how his comments sound like they come from an entirely new language in itself. That's why I'd love to use this podcast. Posted by Kristin Cash. May 3, 2011 at 11:52 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Web Tools for Teaching.

Friday, April 8, 2011. Mod11: eMails, ePals and so much more! When I first heard about ePals, I was excited about the idea of the opportunity my student would have to be able to "write" to their own personal ePal. What I didn't realize is how much MORE ePals has to offer. After exploring the site, I think it is am amazing teacher resource and very user friendly. If your heart is now pumping with excitement, you are not alone. But lets not wait any longer to check it out here! April 11, 2011 at 8:34 AM.

Sunday, April 24, 2011. After doing some exploring on the ePals website, I noticed a few extremely useful features that I'd love to incorporate into my classroom. Feature #1: Collaborate Search by Country. It takes authenticity of learning to an entirely new level. Teachers Community Media See Teacher Work Teacher Spotlight Projects. Posted by Kristin Cash. Friday, March 11, 2011. Twitter is an interesting extension of some of my previous discussions of how social networking can be used in the classroom and for professional development. On the surface, it's got a lot of the same features as other social networking sites: you can connect with people from all over the world, share thoughts and ideas, develop an online identity, learn how to evaluate source validity, and have fun. She makes two important points defending Twitter:. You don't have to 'dive-in...

Monday, April 25, 2011. After watching Ethan Zuckerman's TED talk. Entitled "Listening to Global Voices," I realized that like in so many supposedly 'groundbreaking' arenas, social norms still define the way we behave. Considering other social groups that form out of new modes of expression (art, literature, news, television), it's not difficult to spot the motifs of racism, sexism, ethnocentrism, etc. that pervade them. Mr. Zuckerman makes an important point: the internet is no different. In another cla...
