THE ORIGIN OF VITHAYATHIL FAMILY. The origin and growth of the Vithayathil family can be traced back to the first nine centuries in Kodungallur. Christians there were forced to quit the land following the communal violence which broke out there. Thereupon they shifted to Ankamaly, Kanjoor, Chovara, Edapilly and such places. The different branches of the Vithayathil family. Varkey had five sons - Kochuvarkey, Kunjipailo, Lona, Ouseph Hormis, and three daughters as well and they were married into Puthenpally Moolan, Njarkkal Pullan and South Parur Parapuram families. Of the five sons, Lona had no children. Ouseph became a priest. Hormis had only daughters. The remaining two - Kochuvarkey and Kunjipaulo - have left behind their lineage.
