Shortly after moving back to Verne in the late 1990s, Garner backed a Discount Gas Station. Uh, hey Garner,. In business you’re supposed to turn a profit! Then, Garner bought an old drive-in movie theatre. He thought it would be his ticket into the film biz! Nobody came, so he got himself elected Mayor, and got the town to buy the land. Next, he got into real estate, buying a block of buildings on Main St. We all know how that turned out!
