After stripping away what I felt was irrelevant - I found a topic that I could begin with;. This summer I got certified as a "Infant Massage Instructor" by the International Association of Infant Massage, so it seems a good place to start. Where this will lead, only time will tell-. Dr Guardel who is a pediatrician figured that if hammocks help adults relax, well maybe it would help babies too. Simple but soooo wise! Dr Hernando Thorne, a neonatologist working together with Dr. Guardel opened his doors for me, and let me see their work in action! You could feel their peacefulness. Issues that concern the poor may be; the quality of public education, health care, subsidized child care for working mothers, food stamps. Extreme poverty has a different face. Its a world where any education is a privilege, and being a "working" mother may be a luxury. Where then, is the solution?

One day this week (like the little lightbulb in the cartoons) it occured to me that 1st grade must have been called that because it was the FIRST grade a child attended in formal school. Wow how things have changed! Kindergarden is the "warming up" year for 1st, and I guess they created pk-4 to get ready for kindergarden pk-3? The culmination, summit, climax in life. "college".
