This is climbing down one of the escarpments found all over the Gokwe area. Below is a pic of a place where the animals have been licking the rock, probably for millennia…. Its quite a nice view from here (looking north). This pic was taken an hour or so earlier – slightly to the right of the view above. I think there were three people on top of that minibus!

As a child, I was always told to do that and couldn’t. But after our recent visit to South Africa when we stayed with my brother in law (B-I-L) in Vereeniging, I can understand why it was drummed into my head. Clubhouse at Zebula Golf Estate. To describe, or not to describe…. April 13, 2015. When I wrote Silk Threads, I had no preconceived ideas about the setting, because I mostly wanted to write about a person with Aspergers Syndrome. Obviously the book had to be set somewhere and since hardly anyone knows where Bulawayo is…. However, that in itself creates a problem. Things that are obvious to me, views I see every day, are not so to a foreigner. Take the blue skies! I know I mentioned the heat in October, because even residents notice that!
