Fields of Sage

Friday, March 15, 2013. Signs that Spring is almost here. This week my washing machine broke. The same week my husband was out of town for a week and unable to repair or haul a replacement into my laundry room. I faced the dreaded trip to the local laundromat to sit for hours staring at machines and having a rather unproductive day. Unproductive days and I don't really get along too well. The hens getting a treat of chopped canned cucumbers that were a little too old for our use. I learned many things de...

Fields of Sage: Joy

http://fieldsofsage.blogspot.com/2012/12/joy.html

Sunday, December 16, 2012. I know I have been absent. I know I left everyone hanging. And I apologize greatly for it. I got the help I needed to face my past and take hold of my present. And now I am healing. Life is looking Joyful again. And the mask is off. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). All flowers want for nothing but soft dark earth, kisses of sunlight, droplets of water, and a place to bloom and grow. This is how a flower plucks up its own roots and grows where it chooses to be planted. Signs ...

Fields of Sage: November 2011

http://fieldsofsage.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html

Tuesday, November 29, 2011. It's been a long summer and fall, obviously. I've been too busy to post, and had to put it on my to do list to remind myself that I have dozens of photos and ideas of things to write about. Perhaps I should put it as a regular reminder on my calendar? Evan playing in a huge pile of feed corn at a local corn maze! I've actually been looking forward to the Winter (! Since that means a nice break from travels and a little bit of time to slow down and gather myself. We have eaten ...

Fields of Sage: June 2011

http://fieldsofsage.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html

Friday, June 10, 2011. Clothes on the line, one of my favorite things. Its been hot. And I mean like 95 degree in the middle of the day and it being 85 degrees in the house hot. We just got some relief in the form of daily rainclouds rolling in around 2pm. But we have gotten little rain from them. Things are dry. And did I mention hot? A nice stand of corn. It's about 3 feet high at this point. The Broccoli crowns get larger even from dawn till I check the plants at dusk! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Fields of Sage: December 2011

http://fieldsofsage.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html

Monday, December 26, 2011. Rosetta, or Red Girl - My Rhode Island Red. Henny Penny - My Golden Dutch Bantam. I started out feeding my girls the typical pellet and scratch combo that is in all the books. Until one day I had some leftover buttermilk which had gotten a little too thick and some cornmeal which had fallen prey to pantry moths. So I mixed them together and threw them out to the chickens. Because milk and cornmeal, it's practically bread right? Dot - My Barred Rock Hen. Raven - My Australorp Hen.

Fields of Sage: March 2011

http://fieldsofsage.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

Tuesday, March 22, 2011. Resiliance - Finally Spring. My seedlings are doing alright. The bell peppers are beautiful! But I had put the tomatoes and brassicas outside last week to get a little dappled sunlight but it was too much for them. They are a little ragged but I hope they will survive. What is your favorite quick meal? Homemade or store bought? Wednesday, March 9, 2011. A Matter of Time. And to think I feel guilty that I take a few minutes here and there to take care of myself. How do I do it?

Resisters of the World Unite! Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Immigrants – Alabama. A court day in the life of an immigrant. December 12, 2013. Looking at Julio in chains, I thought about the many injustices that people of color are subjected to in this country. Where does racial profiling begins? Where does it end? I didn’t know Julio before this morning. I went to the Montgomery federal courthouse in support of someone I was told was an ACIJ leader in the Dothan community. Still, it...
