46 North Farm: March 2011
http://ostmanfarm.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Seasonal Observations from a Small Farm on Oregon's North Coast. Sunday, March 20, 2011. Over a Thousand Reasons Why We Need an Elk Fence. Whenever I have doubts about my sanity at choosing farming as a career, I remember that this is the only job I have ever done where I continually loose myself in the work, coming to with a smile on my face and wishing that the sun would stay up for just another hour or so, as the ten hours I've already spent in the greenhouse just aren't quite enough. We finally got o...

46 North Farm: June 2010
http://ostmanfarm.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Seasonal Observations from a Small Farm on Oregon's North Coast. Monday, June 14, 2010. As a farmer growing flowers and vegetables for a living, I've never gotten very excited about deer, unless is was in a 'hopping up and down in a fury because some #$@% $. Deer had eaten all the sweet pea blooms off the trellis the day before market' kind of way. And our biggest neighbour here at 46 North Farm? A wildlife rescue and rehab center, the Wildlife Center of the North Coast. What does it mean? My god the dee...

46 North Farm: October 2010
http://ostmanfarm.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Seasonal Observations from a Small Farm on Oregon's North Coast. Monday, October 11, 2010. I guess we should tell you about this. I'm not sure why I'm feeling so shy about this, but we are going to be in Portland tomorrow night, October 12th, as part of the program for Friends of Family Farmers great series, inFARMation (and Beer! Our local food bank) and the Cannon Beach Farmers Market. I was actually terrified to be standing up in public, in front of the press even, talking about my work as a farmer.

46 North Farm: Food Talk!
http://ostmanfarm.blogspot.com/2010/12/food-talk.html
Seasonal Observations from a Small Farm on Oregon's North Coast. Saturday, December 4, 2010. In the spirit of my recent promise for 'more frequent posts with more pictures' I submit the following news. Bear in mind that the 'more pictures' part is only possible by using the not-extensive-enough 46 North Farm image archives, so these pictures don't necessarily go with what's being said, but there are lots of them! This coming Monday, December 6th at 9:30 am is the premier of the new program Food Talk.

46 North Farm: Reflections on a (belated) anniversary
http://ostmanfarm.blogspot.com/2010/12/reflections-on-belated-anniversary.html
Seasonal Observations from a Small Farm on Oregon's North Coast. Saturday, December 18, 2010. Reflections on a (belated) anniversary. This was a rather distracting autumn for us, and recently we realized that an important milestone had passed by without much fanfare, no champagne and little celebration: September 24th was our first anniversary of Buying the Farm. 46 North Farm Autumn 2009. For the appointment, and I only had so long before I had to head back to my Real Job. This past year has been a stru...
