X-ray diffraction instrument acquired through a DURIP grant through the Office of Naval Research. The instrument is intended to serve as a state-of-the-art user facility that will enhance the capabilities of researchers on campus. General purpose x-ray diffraction for powders, bulk materials, and thin films. High-speed detector (LynxEye ) -1-D Compound silicon strip. Temperature stages (in operation June 2007):. Cryo stage from -190 XC to 450 XC. High temperature stage from room temperature to 1600 XC.
